India is not wealthy enough for a welfare state. People have to survive by whatever labor possible.

What non sense. India has been a welfare state. India has spent $30 billion on just constructing toilets. And if you add up all the money spent on housing and food on medicines on various other things, it turns out to be billions of dollars. The problem is that no matter how much you spend the population is too huge people have to work so that they can earn and survive a living

They don't even have chairs and people are like, you need to get the government involved! There is no way there are paid officials that monitor the work force except in certain places. Not in chairless country.

So these workers are willing to give their all to produce nicely made goods in hot houses while being exposed to who the hell knows what and you can't spend a few bucks on ventilation and PPE? They could still sell them for 2.5 Euro and have money left to take care of these slaves. These business owners are miserable souls. I feel bad for them. Thanks for the expose.

Lol. Just stop it. Leather is a great material. Nothing is gonna stop leather production, but u can only try to implement safer approach to those chemicals.
