2012 was one of the worst years for Indian cricket with all the legends of 2000s either retiring or well past their prime. Lost 4-0 in Australia, couldn't qualify for CB Series final or Asia cup final, didn't qualify for T20 Wc semis, lost 1-2 in a home test series against Eng and lost 1-2 in a home ODI series against Pak. The only shining light was the emergence of Kohli who played some remarkable knocks and announced himself.

@@MatheenKhan-ln4xq It's not an attempt at hiding weakness it's a fact. Also Pakistan played better cricket in the series and had a really good lineup with top order in form and a formidable bowling line up with Gul, Ajmal and Junaid. They deserved to win based on how well they played :)

This is a game changing series for few core players lyk Sehwag,Gauti. In Previous yr only they won wc and these Players never thought that they will make a way from the team in the next year itself especially Gauti. Sehwag was under scrutiny atleast. Both the openers were slowly shaded away after this series also in SL they were not at their best. And Murali Vijay was tried in that place after he was replaced by Rohit. Shikhar was replaced by Gauti. He made a sudden impact and there was no looking back
