I too Like Dravid !!! U missed his knock against Netherlands there he scored 8 he was bowled !!!!!India were well Poised against Aussies 44/2 in 8 overs Dravid came and slowed things with his 1 of 23 Deliveries !!!! , England Game also he played very slowly then a single over of Anderson he scored 22 Runs which Bettered his stat otherwise that day he was hugely criticized for slow Game initially !!!! , His Best was Against Kiwis and Pakistan ,

This was a high-pressure match for India after losing the previous match to Australia. "The Little Master" played very sensibly at the beginning of the India innings....(I remember, how we felt very tense in front of the television when watching the first 15 overs) later part of the innings, "The Wall" saved India play till the end of the match...

I remember before the world cup Dinesh Mongia was selected by the Indian selectors instead of Laxman saying Laxman plays bit steady and Mongia would be better for 50 over matches but Mongia played too slow in this wc so it was a bad decision dropping V Laxman from the 2003 world cup. I also was surprised at that decision and never saw Mongia performing in that world cup for once.

Dinesh Mongia's batting is comparable with Bhuvaneswar Kumar batting but he represented as a batsman in our team.

That was a wrong choice,VVS Laxman had been dropped in Mongia's favour. Mongia never contributed with the bat or ball in the entire world cup. Mongia managed labourous 120 runs in 6 innings at an awful strikerate of 57.42 in 2003 cwc. An average of 20.00 back in those days was acceptable for the players with a strikerate above 80.

Alistar Campbell who was in commentary box team broadcasting wc was called to play for Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 again during the middle of the tournament and for the record this match was in line light as the crowd in India burned pictures and threw stones at Indian cricketer house for not losing against Australia 🇦🇺 and winning badly against Holland 🇳🇱

Yes! Dada asked VVS but VVS was out of form in ODI at that time. Selectors denied dadas request because already Dada has selected few players from his side especially brought back srinath into India's bowling attack from retairement.
