We also need standardised Plate Carriers and Sights/Scopes for ALL our soldiers, not just the special forces. All major militaries have moved away from iron sights, it's time we do too. Proper weapon and accessories, proper protection etc, proper vehicles, these basic needs must be met first before any sci-fi stuff of next generation.

Manipur me army officer with family JK me na jaane kitne soldiers apni jaan gwa chuke open truck, un protacated vehicles me baithe, petrol krte hue..teirst ke ambush gun fire ke chlte.. Pulwama ke baad transport vehicles ko bullet proof krne ki baat kaha gya tha..pr last CRPF bus pr attack ho gya..

Total requirements should be more than 1400 units,800+ units for Mechanized units,200 units for Mobile SAM with 8/12 MANPADS/Astra MK1 mounted on it,similar to Avenger TWQ. 150 units customized for launching Swarm Drones & Loitering Munitions. 150 units for Launching ATGM & SR Missile launchers. 100 DEW deployed with 1KW laser mounted on it.

we have done a independent research based on active divisions and deployed brigades. and i feel indian army needs atleast 2000 medium wieght 10-15ton, 1800 tracked heavy weight apc 20-30t, and 7000 multterrain capability lightwieght vehical 5-10t

@@CatOfCulture preferably more advanced Tejas Mk2 for jaguars and mirages that will retire after 2030 (though I doubt they will replace Mirage 2000 before 2032 after recent upgrades) , Mk1A would already replace about 100 Mig 21s...

Defence matrix Bhai, navigation NAAVIC based hona chahiye na. Atleast available hona chahiye . Taaki foreign dependence na rahe navigation ke liye. May be both GPS aur NAAVIC based can be made available

best would be to opt for a fleet of 822 brand new IVECO LMV 2 4WD + 3.0 in. Lift 6.8 TDI I4 5-Dr Armoured Personnel Vehicle (RHD) . . . only grouse with the Kalyani IFV (which is based on the South African built Mbombe 4 4WD + 3.0 in. Lift 9.2 TDI I6 5-Dr Armoured Vehicle) is that it's too heavy . . . the Spanish made Uro VAMTAC 4WD + 5.0 in. Lift 6.3 TDI I6 4-Dr Armoured Vehicle (RHD) is another worthy contender . . .

I remember during kargil war.. Indian Army had to lease private trucks even for troops carrier.. That's how it works here.. Aag lagne pe kua khodo.. MMRCA to mazak ban gaya he.. China and jihadis will take permission before waging war.. Aap ka weapons kharid k hogay to ham aai ladai ladne..

Indian army should learn to engage itself in real fights, wars with real enemies to learn real world performance of its weapons, systems, and logistics. A begging institution for talks with PLA cannot make India a responsible and respectable power. Politicians and elected mafia cannot be allowed to use armed forces and police forces to manipulate these back bones of country. Indian army is currently celebrating ceasefire wtih Pak Army and begging to PLA to conduct multiple rounds of talks.

Nah, we should try to reduce Russian dependence. They are not trusted allies against China, which should be our main focus. Indigenous vehicles or vehicles from other strategic partners would be a much better option.
