I'm buying an American bike, yet I'm watching a lot of reviews from "down under" to decide which Indian and equipment I want. You Aussies and Kiwis know your bikes! Kudos.

$31,495.oo .,so that's what you said. HOWEVER if you check as of 12/6/2021 the 2021 is listed, the Vintage that is, at $20,499.oo Plus setup $???., Plus Surcharge $900.oo ... so it's closer to $22,000.oo But who's quibbling over a mere 9,500.oo paseos? You got one thing spot on, namely that it's a tremendous bike indeed. Now fast forward to 2021 from 2015 when you posted and you've got added Ride Modes, Rear Cylinder deactivation, a USB port, and a few other odds & ends. A little disappointed am I that they scandalously took away the engine oil cooler unit. What? Did they think for a second that no one would ever notice or even care? For 2022 the beloved Vintage is off the production line, giving way to a totally redesigned bike called, of all things, Chief. You could have blown me away with a feather at hearing that startling news. But look at it in practical terms for a second in the eyes of the purse holders. By down-sizing the bike to squeeze in between Scout & Springfield, there you've got something a bit less intimidating for those fearful of an 835 lb. bike. They must also believe those floppy leather bags, leather frilly tassels streamers, etc. are now outdated. I did notice that the tan leathered, frilly 2021 Bike is still occupying floor-space with no takers and it's the last month of the year. The dealer which shall remain nameless for fear of retribution is not too far from me. Don't think I didn't offer to take the heavyweight Vintage off their hands as a favor to them. But oh no, they didn't look at it that way at all. I can live with that frilly tassels streamers, brown leather bagged beast for the next 8 or 10 years. At age 75 they didn't take pity on me. No, they're playing hard ball. I know it won't go to rust by the time someone gets possession of it, but can't they just lighten up a little, make some room out front, next to the big picture windows for a new FTR for those in the up and coming generation of riders? So you must be thinking that I'd like to be the owner of that red beast and your 99 % correct. But no, not at the inflated number$ on the tag. I'll wait it out or maybe, just maybe I'll pick up a well maintained, clean, always garaged, never ridden in the rain, low mileage used Vintage somewhere down the road. YUP, I spotted a few lately. I'm certain there's more than a few, out there owned by someone a few years older than me. There is and he's the guy who said he's given up riding now that the doctor replaced his knee & hip in the last several months. I wish him speedy recovery. See I'm not selfish. Oh, almost forgot to give honorable mention to Springfield. Hope they don't scrap that bike too.

Very impressive bikes! If only I could afford one. I'm waiting for a " dyna" style Indian to come out. Stripped down big twin like a super glide Harley or a wide glide. Until then I'll keep riding my old 2002 wide glide carbureted Harley :) greetings from Kentucky USA!

Great bike, very enjoyable and comfortable, not to mention awesome power and torque. My one criticism is the placement of the driving light switch, it's hard to reach- and I have long arms. Why isn't it on the console Mr Polaris??

Nice review! I'm not sure where you're getting this price from but you must have every single option available and then some. I got mine for just under $25K (USD) and it's loaded.

I looked on the website and it’s now 19,999-22,999 depending on the paint job! I could be wrong about this, but they all look the same except for the the leather color and paint job!

You’re Gae I don’t know about what variants are now available - talk the dealers about any differences. Indian offers lots of options.

The word vintage must be the new corporate buzz word, because this is not a vintage bike. Although I admire these bikes, for the price I could buy several real vintage bikes which will increase in value.

I think the "Vintage" pertains to how the bike looks like the vintage Indians.

You are right in this case, but it depends on the context of how the word is used. After checking out the Chiefs I figured out what they were getting at. Anymore it seems that anything I see for sale that is a wore out piece of junk is called vintage. If someone doesn't know what they are selling just call it vintage and raise the price sky high! In the case of Indian motorcycles even converted to U.S. prices, Indians and Harley's are way over priced. I own two Harley's and I will be the first to state they aren't worth the price that people are asking for them. Every since the trendy yuppie crowd turned them into a fashion statement the prices have become a joke! I've been riding since before I had a license and I am now 60 so I came in before it became a fashion statement.
