Temperatures in India are rising continuously and we all are struggling in these summers. Apart from global warming, there are some issues which are specific to India that needs to be solved to beat the heat and to protect our environment. And for this just like last year, Abhi and Niyu are back with natural air conditioners. And this is a simple solution to tackle the heatwaves.
To support Abhi and Niyu in their initiative of planting 1,00,000 mango trees this year, just follow these 3 simple steps
Step 1: After eating the mangoes - wash the gutlis so that there is no pulp on it.
Step 2: Let it dry in sunlight for 3 to 4 days till there is no trace of wetness on it
Step 3: Once the gutlis have dried collect them in a box so that you can post it to the address shared above
Each mango tree in its lifetime will absorb 81 tons of carbon and release 271 tons of oxygen into the air. It has the cooling effect of 5 ACs kept running for 1000 hours! So lets plant some mango trees and have fun with mangoes

Lekin meri ek suggestion hai, agar aap paudha direct seed mai se banana chahte hoo to fir ghar mai bottle ka use karke ya fir tuta matke ka use karke usmai pehle bahot saare seed daal do. (For exanple maine ek aasopalav ka tree seed se bada kia hai aur aaj wo 4 year ka bada tree ban gaya hai). Hamare city mai to agar apko podha lagana hoo to apko alag se pots dete hai aur isi lie Mai puri society ki taraf se bahot pots leke aya tha aur usmai chote chote plants(for example jismai flower ate hai ya fir ayurveda mai kaam ane wale plant) laga die the aur aaj usmai bahot flowers ate hai.

Do everything you can to have a cool roof/white roof, use pure white blinds or curtains to block out direct sunlight on windows for the heat to be reflected, and make sure even the walls are even painted white to keep buildings and Homes a little extra cooler overall and let more people know about this.

I'm from a lower-middle-class family. My dad and I run a hotel. This year has been particularly challenging for us. First, the summer; second, the heat from those big stoves. We don't have AC, and our house doesn't have a ceiling. It's really, really hot, to the point where I feel like my skin is burning during the daytime 😢. I wish everyone to stay safe.

Try to cover your roof with some trees like Bougainvillea. Or some seasonal vegetables like pumpkin they cover the areas and keep your rooms 2 or 3 degree cooler

Government should put restrictions on mining and realestate developments. Every city has lost 95% of its green cover. There is concrete everywhere, roads which absorb the heat. There should be focus on increasing the green cover. In nature, everything is interlinked: one affects another. If heat increases then we may run dry and soon we may be able to live in AC rooms but wont have enough vegetation to eat. Government should also understand that roads, energy and beautiful trains are not development. A wealthy country should be clean, self sufficient, sustainable, green with forestation. Our people will never understand this and we are soon to be doomed.

I think the Indian government should make policies regarding making big rooftop gardens over the buildings. Because it is a part of sustainable development as you can see in Singapore. The rooftop gardens not just include planting small trees but literally Big trees and potentially reduce the heat Island. The question is that why the companies are not focusing on it ??

Absolutely right, i live in city but hardly 1_2hrs using AC only with ceiling fan & one thing relaxing your body & mind too than you realised your body will cool down, whether whatever temperature you near by do this stuff yu will get results, because I m worried about environment. As i young age in my village everyone's advised to my grand father just cutting your trees n sell it for at good cost bcz most of villager's do.. But i m always preferred to planting & avoid to deforestation still my grand father's support me n ignores other villagers.. My cousin one n only who support my idea n conserve nature.. When I was in village I do always preferred to spent full day in the forest under the trees and calmly listening cheering of birds.. N with some trading life.. I know 90% public who supports & speaks about environment but at Social media not at ground level which is very sad to our generation..

I'm a student from Varanasi ..and the maximum temperature here , today , is 42'C. The mere thought makes me shiver that what will happen in the main summer months i.e. MAY and JUNE! Whenever I am exposed to sunlight , I can literally feel the burn on my hand and tan! I hope we soon overcome this.

Thank God that I am from North East and the weather is cold in morning and night and afternoon is a pleasant warm. Spring season is going on here right now with beautiful flowers blooms everywhere. People need to start planting more trees and keep lots of indoor plants to keep cool inside the house. Also, in the last few days, God has been blessing us with rain and light drizzle.

@peaceneeded Population was a problem few decades ago. Not now. India's fertility rate is 2 per woman. That means two kids on two people and it's declining like anything. It was 6 in 60s, 4 in 90s, 2 in 2020s, and expected to go below 1.5 in next couple of decades. Now second thing, Due to the medical advancements, average age is rising. In US and UK and most developed countries it's in 75+. In India it's 67. So in 20-30 years, it will rise to 75+ or even more. Now combine these two facts, the new born population will start declining for India in 3-4 years because the fertility rate will be less than 2 and people will be living longer due to high life expectancy due to medical advancements. Now, that means after a point, there will be a rise in average age. Average age in India is in 20s, that means more work force. People after 50 generally don't do much productive work and generally retire after 60. Japan is facing this problem, their workforce is declining severely. Same with a lot of European countries. So currently it's golden time for India because we have a young workforce. Our govt and we should work on skill development so that we can use this workforce in building our economy stronger. Once population starts to decline which will be in 2040s for India, then average age will rise and we'll have lesser people as a young productive workforce. So it will be a burden on the the country to manage the economy productively. We should utilize this time and make better policies for education, healthcare and skill building thus better employment so that we can effectively use our young population. It's an advantage for India not a disadvantage. Yes, I agree this was a problem in 90s but not now. UN recommends 2.1 as a stable population fertility rate (because it considers infant mortality also) at which the population will be stable. India is below that so in coming decades we might be facing challenging times if we don't make use of it now.

Summary: In India, 3 out 4 people are unorganised sector - 1/3rd Quarter of GDP. They work as labour. They directly working under sun. Climate is unbaised. India is 3rd vulnerable country for climate changes. AC increases temperature. ( Electricity comes from Coal ( thermal energy ) - Carbon Emissions - indirectly increases electricity. In India, 24 out of 100 houses have AC. Heat wave - heat is trapped at bottom due to high pressure. ( Pressure cooker). Happiness Index - top countries - all are cold countries. - can control Cold. Happiness Index in India is 126. These temperature also affects. We copied western countries like Glasses building - two suns. - double light or temperature. Singapore has similar temperature so it has super building designs and gardens on each building. We should learn from them.

Urban & rural solutions govt should take 1) free electric transportation like bus train 2) cover all buildings wall & surrounding space with plants & trees 3) stop plastic daily uses like soup,milk & butter milk packet biscuit chips oil packet etc. & invent pollution free packaging 4) make rules on who own home or plot , they should strictly use their 30% land for plants & trees 5) every family own cow in their house & use ancient Indian culture . For dairy product , green & healthy environment. 6) stop using AC & use water cooler fan . 7) Instead of building a house with cement and bricks, build a house with wood. Or we can get back the wood by planting trees but we cannot get it back by breaking the mountains by digging cement or digging the ground and making bricks. 8)Get electricity only by installing solar plants and not by burning coal. 9) use natural multani mitti for bath instead of using chemical soup 10) thank to earth for giving all resources. We must give all this to earth with intrest .

I'm from Siliguri west bengal! Can't believe once people used to come in Siliguri to feel the climate of Darjeeling now its 35° in Siliguri! Now I kno it's less than many places but for Siliguri from where Darjeeling is only 2 hrs ka rasta ! Its unbelievable!😕 Another thing is that we don't have place here to plant big trees like mango guava peepal imli etc. but our house is full of small plants!

I quit using AC this year. I have bought a new cooler. Even though it consumes electricity it won't release CFC's. Avoid air conditioning as much a possible guys
