Making an amazing plant based feast doesn't always involve slaving in the kitchen all day, we seem to always be short on time so fast recipes are a winner for us. Our close friend Raj Bruv introduced us to this delicious Lobia (black eyed bean) curry. Don't be intimidated by all the spices if you don't want to buy them all this is a great excuse to get to know your neighbours our even ask a friend if they have any in the back of the cupboard.

All the best,

I wish we had more variety in beans in Germany. in the regular supermarket you'll only get chickpeas, kidney beans and maybe white beans. you have to pay a hefty extra for black or black eyes beans

If you do use oils at all, i was just looking at reviews of Pecan Oil...Now, i'm not clear whether people like the un-roasted or roasted better, but once people have tried pecan oil for cooking or salads, they say they like it the best...they say the flavor is better than olive oil and is great for stir frying mushrooms, stir fries, cookies and baked goods, pancakes, salads, in place of buttery stuff, etc, and from the sounds of things, upgrades the taste a bit...i've never tried it, but it's on the pricey side, so it's confusing as to which one to buy, though roasted usually tastes better but not as healthy, but even for the cold pressed, people like it, as far as oils go...in case you want to give it a go... i would read reviews from the various brands...in America, supposedly 'Guidry's organic pecan oil' may be the best, and since i can only find the cold pressed from that company, with good reviews, the cold pressed might be preferable...i just read some reviews of the toasted from another brand and it did not seem as favorable as the cold-pressed....🌺

Looks delightful. But please don't add the powered spices till the tomatoes go in or they could burn and garam masala should only be added once cooking is finished.

I never knew that. Thanks for the tip. Other chefs say it’s important to ‚cook out´ the spices. It’s confusing.

I was told by a professional chef to cook the herbs and spices with onions for a few minutes before adding sauces. 🤷‍♀️💐💖
@floatingpeaks4584
@floatingpeaks4584 Жыл бұрын
@@cosmiccreator I wouldn't for a few min as that will most likely spoil the flavour, unless you have the heat very low. You can add the powered spices to the onions for a few seconds maybe 30/40 secs if you have a lot of oil in the pan and then quickly add the tomatoes. But to be on the safe side add the powered spices same time as the tomatoes. Hard spices should always go in first like cumin when the oil is hot and if you hear sizzle the temp was right. You can try either way. Which ever taste appeals to your taste buds is the right way 😉 I tend to cook with as little oil as possible. If the onions look they need more oil. I boil a kettle and keep adding water, till the onions are done.
