I don't know how this came up on my feed, but the hug with your father when you were accepted to Penn was just touching. My son passed away at birth due to a genetic illness, and he would have been about your age now. I wish you nothing but all the success in your studies this fall.

@@AK_B2B Ideally, SAT doesn't need more than 3 attempts: I would suggest attempting your first test in December 2022. You can utilize your summer vacations for the same. P.S Don't let your 11th grades fall by >10% at any cost. Grades are always weighted more than SAT/ACT.

@@AK_B2B Nope, didn't opt for any external counseling. Yes, I studied from Khan Academy. My concentrations would probably be in 'Prelaw', 'English', and 'Business Management'.

Hi. I got $65,000 per year in scholarships and grants. Penn themselves gave me the money; the scholarship was for Syracuse University.

Hi, What does deferred mean?. Like a university says that i am deferred so what does that mean?. After applying if the result come as deferred so what does that mean??????? And what is the difference between deferred and waitlisted?

Deferred means they’ll review your application again with RD applicants (they couldn’t decide whether to accept or reject you right now). Waitlist is a similar concept except you get waitlisted during RD (and not ED).

Nope. It's impossible to predict anything when it comes to college admissions. Tens of thousands of students have a similar percentage as you (even more); however, a college looks for more than just grades. Work on other aspects of your app and you'll have a solid chance :)

I gave the Duolingo English Test instead of TOEFL/IELTS. As far as I know, most schools do not require English proficiency tests if you studied English as a subject during your high school or scored above 700 on the EBRW section of the SAT. If I were you, I would confirm from either my school counselor or directly from college authorities. Cheers!

All those kids who couldn't get into good colleges in Other countries remember life is not all about studies channelise your potential and realise your dreams there are so many avenues in sports literature and even academics within India itself .Also the application process for American universities especially Is not about smarter brains but more about privileges of having attended an english medium school educated parents the ability to even pursue extra curriculars and so many other factors .We must strive to create these facilities within our country itself in the coming days
