Great review, and stills, really refreshing to see more of the actual bike as you are doing the review instead of just seeing the over handlebars like the others do it. The Scout is such a visual pleasure and your description nailed it. You mentioned all the bits wrong too,, and I have to agree with all of your points, I would add that the Speedo is pretty much impossible to read at night. I Have a 2016 Scout in the same colour, which in my opinion is the best looking. they get sooo much attention when I'm out riding, I do the same when I park it and have to look back ! Thanks

Thank you Daniel for the kind words and for the support - I am so glad to hear these reviews are valuable to others, and do justice to the bikes themselves. I could not agree with you more, and it seems the all the visual aspects of the Scout strike you and I in the same way, and that's great to hear - my photographer mentioned how I geek out on the leather seat and paint job a little too much in the review, so I am glad to hear I am not the only one out there hahaha. PS - this past weekend at the La Jolla Concours D'Elegance, the first prize went to a 1926 Scout in original condition with it's original leather seat! www.lajollaconcours.com/2019-winners

I have watched so many videos on so many bikes, my head was beginning to explode. But an ex brother-in-law had pointed me towards the Indian FTR. For a few months I have done my research on this bike, and I had loved everything about it, except that i had preferredto have a cruiser. Then I had seen the Scout classic. I almost immediately fell in love with this bike, but I was still cautious and did my research, and I was convinced that this was the bike for me. Early June I had located an Indian dealership within three hours of me, (I live in NE Utah near Dinosaur National Monument) that had good reviews, and after speaking to a salesman I had paid my deposit of $500.00 to order a 2022 Indian Scout ABS Black Metallic. It's scheduled date of arrival is about early August, so yes, it's out about 6-8 weeks. Here I am watching this video 4 years after it was published and further reinforces that I had made the right decision. I've also read and watched many articles and videos that any issues that the Scout may have had were taken care of by the 2017 year model. Thanks for an awesome video!

Thanks for watching and taking the time to participate in the conversation. Awesome to hear you found my video helpful. Congratulations on the bike. I'm still in love with them when I see one in the road. My wife is too. I'm loving the bobber style as well. Safe travels and thanks again for the support.

This is one of the best reviews on this bike I have seen. So many reviews are a series of vague generalities and exclamations with a helmet camera viewing the road. You have great information and good camera work. Keep this up.

Thank you so much for the support - I could not agree with you more regarding the majority of the reviews on KZfaq these days. These are all my bikes and I try to be as honest about my impressions as I can, and I am always grateful to hear others find value in my work. Please stay tuned for more reviews being prepared and edited every day. Thanks again and safe riding!

Wow. Ya got to sit on a couple of these at a show, some were very custom. Not sure how much pull Polaris has in the indian design but they are doing what that other company didn't bother to do for the past century.

Very true - Indian seems to be doing fairly well at the moment, and I think this has to do with their attention to detail and making a competitively priced motorcycle that is I call respects an excellent piece of engineering.

That bike... Is GORGEOUS ! The color along with the brown of the leather is a beautiful combo. Indians have a profile that flows so nice from the forward edge of the front wheel to the rear edge of the back wheel. The fenders, frame, fuel tank, and handlebars all fit so great together. One more thing, I dig your style. You mount the bike and let her rip just like it was designed to do. Can't wait for spring cause I'll be switching over to a Scout. I'm savin my pennies and savin my dimes, giddy up giddy up 69 !!!

It's even more so in person, under the sun (or the moon, or the street lights!!!!) This bike is really one of the best looking ones on the street, especially in this color, with these leathers. You'll love it, I am sure of it. Indian did an awesome job (and their quarterly reports proves it). Welcome to the channel - good to have you here. - Nik

It tells you in the handbook how to adjust the clutch, i'm not that mechanically minded but it's a 5 minute easy job
@pegasusmotorcycletours

What I am referring to is the adjusting wheel screw at the lever itself to quickly compensate for the stretch of the cable. Thanks for sharing though, apologies if that was unclear. It ought to be a hydraulic system anyways.

Great review in the bikes looks etc what about the bikes performance , reliability , handling etc.
@pegasusmotorcycletours
@pegasusmotorcycletours 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. It's still too soon to speak about the reliability, however the performance is of the sort that keeps a rider smiling day in and out. Power is there, the weight is low and manageable, and I suppose all that is left is for each rider considering this bike to take it for a spin and see for him/her self. It's definitely the kind of bike that would keep one happy for the life of the vehicle. Handling, however, still needs some work, mainly due to the suspension - as mentioned, too soft in the front and too hard in the rear, non adjustable and probably the weakest point for the bike. Thanks for the suggestions - much appreciated!

@@itsallabouttheridekeepingi4449 so they say however I took the bobber for a spin and was not impressed honestly. Also ,the shoddy rear suspension stiffness is even seen in their commercial - check it out bouncing off of the pavement at 0:21 seconds kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fZ-EdbV6mLGwqKc.html

Review of a 2015 model. Large improvements have been made since then.
@pegasusmotorcycletours
@pegasusmotorcycletours 5 жыл бұрын
Greetings. I am aware of some of the improvements however having experienced the new Scout including the bobber, I must say the issues I bring up here remain (although they have hidden the wires under the tank). The suspension is still inadequate, in my humble opinion, and even the official commercial of the bobber shows the rear wheel leaving the ground on a very regular stretch of pavement - I bring this point in a follow up video I am editing presently so please stay tuned. Thank you very much for your input - it's always welcome.

It's this or a Sportster 48 and I'm going with the Scout. Looks better (in my opinion), more hp and a sixth gear.
@pegasusmotorcycletours

I hear the 48 is quite satisfying as well - never had the pleasure however I do know the little known Harley rocker - bigger engine, forked out like a chopper - but I liked that Harley. Now I own an Electra Glide but I agree that the scout is a better looking machine.

By the way, let me talk you into coming to northern Vietnam. The mountain roads we have here are mind blowing. I know plenty of people to hook you up with bikes, tours, etc, the whole nine yards. Seriously. I've been all over Asia, Vietnam in scenery, safety and road variety is second to none.

@@pegasusmotorcycletours I lived 13 years in Indonesia. My favorite island is Sulawesi. It's got loads of mountain roads and coral coastlines. If you go there or Kalimantan, I'd recommend a dual sport or trail bike.

Thanks for watching. I actually did a two-part video on lane splitting which is legal in California and since last week in Arizona as well. It's actually a much safer thing for Riders to be able to do, contrary to popular belief, and if you want to hear all those interesting misconceptions, I raised them in my two videos about lane splitting if only 10% of drivers switched to motorcycling it would alleviate 40% of the traffic, and lane splitting is such a great law that pools people to motorcycling. There are always exceptions when inconsiderate Riders fly past cars, but I don't ride like that and don't condone that kind of behavior on the road. Much appreciated, I look forward to hearing from you in future reviews if you like this bike, take a look at my review of The warrior by yamaha. Cheers. Nick
