That's why I wasn't upset with what Diana Taurasi said. When you get to the professional level, some learning adjustments will be needed in any sport. I am pretty sure when CC started her college career she had to adjust to that level. I feel she will in this level also.

Clark also has one of the biggest targets on her back that any athlete or spectator has ever seen at any level in any sport. Shaq is the only other comparison off the top of my head. Every other team will pretty much ice her on defense and allow her teammates to score at will. It will be a great opportunity for her to become a great passer, because her opponents are going to try to hold her to 0 FG attempts every night. She is certainly hated by her peers.

Much respect for mentioning she would have adjusted to college... How many can say they heard of her after her 1st college season? Yet people expect her to be great after her 1st pro game 😂 there's levels and she has a whole career just starting.

@@DaxSports1There were 17 3 pointers made this game. Both teams shot over 40% from 3 so not sure what you're talking about. Also these are both teams with big posts, so there are gonna be more layups. The Aces had an AWFUL game from 3 yesterday and there were still 21 made 3s between them and the Mercury. For reference, the Knicks vs Pacers game, which is a longer game and far more high-scoring had 24 made 3s.

20 points on her professional debut is an excellent start for CC. Since people want to send me abuse, Larry Bird also had 10 turnovers in 1979 and he went on to be one of the greatest. CC is already the greatest NCAA player male or female, she’ll be fine at home with the fans behind her and with the pressure off now she’s made her debut. Sun look impressive, that Thomas player looked really good. Also worth a mention the arena was sold out because oh Clark. In my country we had live blogs on all our major news sites, on and off the court the Clark effect is in full effect.

Lot of jealousy around CC...already. Patriarchy likes to PIT womyn against womyn. She seems to NOT listen to that stuff. That will help her. I see a lot of people pointing OUT her "negatives" here...showing this misogyny. Like you said, Larry Bird had 10 turnovers in 1979. I will still root CC on...she has done a LOT for basketball and a lot to womyn's basketball. Brought a lot of attention to other players too, as she is a team player. Way to stand up for HER

I know it's only one game but somebody put this comment in a time capsule and see how it ages. Disclaimer: The #Fever is my B team #goliberty Okay, CC got game no doubt about it but she shouldn't be pressed to be the savior of the FEVER because the W is trying to make her the savior of the league. In my world she would lead the second unit until mid-season but I'm sure the endorsement dealers would be throwing fits watching her sit and learn how to do her thing on the next level from the bench. With that said 1)To not capitalize on the dual scoring powers of AB and Nylassa Smith upfront as #1 and #2 options is insane.(if those two are fed the rock consistently not only will they produce but they will also wear down the opposing defenses which will prevent teams from double teaming CC) 2)Start AB at the 4 spot and let her cook !! (AB has dominated the power forward spot at every level her whole life where she has shown she can post up, face the basket, shoot from outside the paint, spin moves, etc) Why limit her at center when she has displayed so much versatility already? And if AB is going to be the center then bring back Emily Engstler to hold down the 4 spot. 3)Starting CC at the 2 and Wheeler at the point is very intelligent if CC "HAS TO START". When Wheeler needs a break bring in Mitchell at the 2 and slide CC to the point. If CC needs a rest you got Hull, Berger, etc(as mentioned earlier if the plan is to feature the 2 front court stars CC can't be doubled, she can either drill the open jumper while at the 2 or drive with the option to dish as point but she would never be double teamed) 4) If the Fever succumb to economic politics instead of basketball IQ there won't be much accomplished this season. If AB, and Smith average 25ppg each alongside 10ppg from Wheeler 15ppg from Mitchell and 16ppg/13apg from CC #Feverbb is playoff bound and fans will witness her greatness because true stars elevate their teams but if CC produces 35ppg/8apg like the W wants and her current teammates are paid to just force feed and watch her it will be detrimental. Only Nike and ESPN benefit from that.

☀️ The world got to see how damn tough Sun are. 😬 I want Alyssa Thomas to win MVP SO BAD. 🪴 CC will grow but folks owe Swoopes and DT apologies. 😌 🤔 Indy’s defense will determine if they make the playoffs or not. 😇 Welcome back Bri Jones. 👍👍 DiJonai and Harris got bigger roles.

While Caitlin is stretching the court with two defenders on her, her own teammates are SIDE BY SIDE PLAYING PATTYCAKE and a third teammate is close by those two.

There's no way Fever is winning the season, but I wish Clark the best in her career! I hope she finds her footing, soon. Personally, I think the stronger teams this season are still the Aces, New York Liberty, Mystics and Mercury. Suns also started off super strong. Let's see.

Hmmm seems like CC found it tough. Not in control, waiting a lot, not fast back to defend. Doesn’t seem a PG but her shot release is good, sure, like the guys.

The Fever should not have drafted CC if they had no intention of leveraging her talent. CC needs to run point, they more ball movement, & they need to be running effective screens. Watch what happens when they hire a coach who will leverage the all time NCAA leader in points + assists. That was a coaching embarrassment.

No one has taught Boston BASIC post defense. She's on her toes, giving room, tiptoeing backwards...The exact OPPOSITE of how you're supposed to do it! Should be heavy or your feet, giving no room, pushing forwards in the gaps. Terrible coaching!

As expected ... and could be seen that Brionna was a little rusty after the lost last season. And Fever completely changed a system that was starting to work really well last year because of CC, and it's a mess. Kelsey needs to fully recover and the Fever start playing like last year and CC complements that, not this. Well, let's see ... the fact is that the start of the season is really difficult for the Fever.
