I live near Robbinsville, New Jersey where the world's largest Hindu temple in terms of acreage is nearing completion. It's an akshardham of the Shri Swaminarayan sect. It will also be the headquarters of B.A.P.S., North America.

I live in New Jersey too. Akshardham which is located in North Jersey is the worlds largest Hindu temple ever. Though the construction is almost at the stage of completion. The temple is totally built with white marble . I usually visit here every month.

It's already impressive and mindblowing in its scale and beauty and it's not even finished yet. My third visit to the site was for the wedding of my chiropractor. It was held inside the mandir, carved entirely from Carrara marble, which is sheltered by an immense shell to protect it from the harsh temperate climate of Central New Jersey. At that time, workers were still laying out the floor and the walls had not yet been colored in.

Its nice in india all these devotees just make the huge crowd around this beautiful temples and ruins the view I really don't like crowd in this people I go to temple for peace but its opposite. Thats why I prefer going Budha stupas.

No. The Area of Babri Masjid plot is 2.77 acres which means around 11200 SI units (1acre= 4047 SI) while the lower ranked ones in this list are around 98000 square metres.

The Akshardham is a majestic piece of architecture. It is a temple with no shortcuts . Every inch is carved. You cannot say that regarding all new temples.

Prambanan Temple is located in Yogyakarta, the only Monarchy in Indonesia. Although the majority of Yogyakarta residents are Muslims, we still retain some of the Hindu culture, due to the SabdoPalon Agreement when allowing Islam to enter Java. The contents of the Sabdopalon Agreement: 1. There should be no imposition of religious dharma or belief. 2. If you want to build a shrine or worship building, make the outer building look Hindu-Javanese style, even though the inner content is Islamic. 3. If an Islamic kingdom is established, the first queen must be a mixed child. Mixed means, if the father is Hindu then the mother is Muslim. If the father is Muslim, then the mother must be Hindu. 4. Do not turn the Javanese into Arabs or Parsi.

Jai Shri Ram Hanuman was named after the root 'Hanu' meaning Jaw after His jaw was fractured by Indra's Vajra when Hanuman was on His way to eat the Sun. Worshiping Hanuman gives one relief from the negative effects of both Mangal and Shani , hence one must worship Him atleast on Tuesdays and Saturdays if there is less free time (Daily is best) Apart from Shri Hanuman Chalisa , we can listen to Bajrang Baan, a powerful hymn in praise of Shri Hanuman. The difference between the South Indian temples and the others is that South Indian were built more than 1000 years ago. The North Indian Mandirs are recent additions using modern technology.
