i have worked with the air force version of the blue angels (the thunderbirds) and the crews that keep these aircraft going are the absolute soul of military discipline. hats off to our brothers in blue who have died in these aircraft- 21 tbird pilots and 26 blue angels and one crew member.

I served in the United States Air Force for 30 years, however, I was an engineer, not a aviator. I did serve as a aircrew member and have flown or flown in hot air balloons, sailplanes, light aircraft. refuelers, cargo aircraft and jet trainers. I've also parachuted from aircraft. It's not possible for those of us who have not flown high-performance aircraft, such as those flown by the Air Force Thunderbirds (F-16s) and the Navy Blue Angels (F-18s) to comprehend the challenges of just flying such an aircraft, not to mention with such precision. These pilots are as close to super-human as there is, and is only achieved through the most intense training, skill and experience. Lord guard and guide the men who fly... (the Air Force hymn).

Fun fact: The Blue Angels, a demo team, fly F-18 super hornets -- in other words, better jets than the actual Canadian Air Force.

I live in San Francisco, and they come here every October for Fleet Week. They practice over the city and then do shows. I have seen them many times. It's a wonderful thing to see. The sound and power of these jets going over your house is so intense and exciting. I forgot about the show a couple of years back and heard these jets going over my neighborhood. I was thinking what jets are these? Lol. I looked it up online and realized it was Americans, not some unfriendly country😂😂 if another country even thinks about bombing the USA, they better be prepared for the gates of hell to open up on them.

they do sporting events and fairs, they come to Seattle every year where i grew up and you have no ideal how loud they are

Heard Blue Angels' name came from the name of a bar the first demonstration team liked.

During practice, they flew over the area where I lived, in Nevada. You could literally FEEL their flyovers…from the top of your head…to the soles of your feet!! I will ALWAYS remember how that felt… It gave me goosebumps!! ❤️🇺🇸💝

The cockpit view is awesome, but you should see the videos taken from the ground and see the aerial acrobatics.

if you set up a gofundme to pay for your travels here, I'd definitely donate for you to go see this, and do all kinds of other stuff, some day :) There's NOTHING like experiencing it in person, the whole earth shakes when they pass by. It's crazy. And they do these shock stunts where one sneaky one comes out of nowhere.
