It is an old and beautiful song, sung so professionally by Don Estelle. Windsor accompanied the video with his own brilliant comedy expressions. In 1975, young or old loved this hit record. Thank you for your love.

Don Estelle, 'Lofty' amazing singer and actor, with Windsor Davies, the legendary 'Sergeant Major Shutup' .. Another great British Actor and Comedian.. Both brilliant together in "It aint half hot mum" Based on British troops in India. By the way the man who plays 'Ranji' in that show is Michael Bates who was born in India in the 1920s.

2:18 _"this man is here for the effects"_ Nope, not really. Sgt Major Williams (with the mustache) is Lofty's commanding officer in the tv-show "It Ain't Half Hot Mum". Even I as non-British person know that.

He is a Battery Sergeant Major, Not an officer mate. Today, they would possibly call him a WO Warrant Officer.

If you haven't seen the comedy show, this song must appear a bit weird and silly. You must watch an episode of the show and understand why it was found hilarious here in the UK, before you will understand the impact the song had many years ago. It was almost compulsory viewing when it was first shown, and very few people knew Don Estelle had such an amazing voice, which helped the sales figures. There are several videos on KZfaq of Don Estelle many years later still trying to earn a bit of money from the success of this song, and he sadly looked a rather pathetic figure, as he obviously couldn't accept his time in the limelight was long gone.
