Swati Maliwal On May 13 Incident: 'Stop Me If I Was Trespassing, Why Beat Me?'

Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal on Saturday said that if she was trespassing into the Chief Ministerâ€™s home on May 13 then she should have been stopped at the entrance gate of Kejriwal's residence. "... If was trespassing, then stop me at the gate. How is it that I entered the drawing room of the Chief Minister? Obviously, I was called inside and that's how I went... If it was a problem, stop me at the gate, why do you have to beat me up...," she said while speaking exclusively to India Today TV. Notably, Maliwal has alleged that she was assaulted by Kejriwal's personal assistant Bibhav Kumar at the Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal on May 13. Kumar has been arrested. Maliwal claimed that the brutal assault by Bibhav did not stop even after she mentioned that she was on her periods. After the assault, Maliwal claimed her arms were sore and she had difficulty walking.

Two reasons. She has learnt from Kejriwal that to insult him outright in media won’t serve any purpose. So she still uses the word ji. Yes she is not telling the whole truth about why she was at his house and what transpired to invoke such wrath against her. She is using that as a trump card against the abuser in the investigation. And she does not want to go public with it while the investigation is on. Remember Swati is no ordinary woman. She will fight and after the initial shock, this is the only way out for her. If she was a BJP agent she would have not allowed herself to be beaten up black and blue. Her injuries have been recorded and Sanjay Singh in a press conference has admitted that she had been illtreated

No. He beats up Swati to teach her a lesson. There are past records. But Swati has decided to fight. That’s the only difference. She could have lodged the FIR on day 1. But she was discouraged to do so because they pacified her. And being a senior party member and an internal issue she conceded. Sanjay Singh gave a press conference in which he admitted that Swati was wronged and Kejriwal was aware of the incident and proper action would be taken. But next day Bibhav Kumar was seen with Kejriwal on campaigns. Swati understood that she had been betrayed and she filed the FIR. Now it’s Kejriwal’s turn to be worried. Because Bibhav is in jail and he was just too close to Kejriwal....... This is what happens when a strong woman is insulted and abused! She will rise like Kalimata

But the people are not fools Kejriwalji. They can now see through you. You have not Commented at all in what happened in your house. The sort of arguments being used here to victim shame Swati. At the end of the day it only shows how even a Rajya Sabha MP is not safe in this system. Everyone knows that Kejriwal is an IITian with extraordinary cunning. He will use arguments like if there was hawala where is the physical cash. Why ED couldn’t find it. Kejriwal wanted the Rajya Sabha seat for Abhishek Singhvi. It is quite possible that it was on account of Abhishek Singhvi's instigation, that this unfortunate chain of events unfolded. So it is Abhishek Singhvi's role that ought to be a matter of investigation. By the way, Abhishek Singhvi is not entirely wrong in demanding a Rajya Sabha seat for himself in lieu of substantial legal services rendered to AAP and its top echelons.

The story is just the depiction of how she was beaten up. How does an MP become as strong figure as Swati become so weak that a PS beaten her up ? If that's true , why ? Without any altercation? And Vibhab will did that only if he is insane. He knew the consequences too. Considering the time when Kejriwal and other AAP leaders are targeted by BJP , this incident smells fishy. the way she is sitting on the sofa doesn't seem that she was beaten and kicked so badly, her posture shows that she so relaxed and she is there to create something. The question asked by the interviewer is correct but she doesn't want to talk about it, what caused that person to assault you, no body will come straight to person and start hitting without any reason. Only if she gives that reason people will believe her.
