Let anchor question what Globalisation steps are lacking in India, when the expert spoke about 'India needs to be more globalised'!! Analysis by GPT4o: - Main Points from Ian Bremmer's Discussion: India’s Economic Growth: Bremmer emphasizes India's rapid economic growth and potential to become a major global economic player. Geopolitical Influence: He discusses India's strategic geopolitical position, including its relationships with global powers like the US and China. Technological Advancements: Bremmer highlights India's strides in technology, particularly in AI and digital infrastructure. Global Risks: He outlines global risks such as geopolitical tensions, economic uncertainties, and technological disruptions that could impact India. Demographic Dividend: Bremmer touches on India's young population as a significant asset for future growth. Critical Analysis: While Bremmer's assessment of India's potential is optimistic, it lacks depth in addressing some critical internal challenges. Economic Disparities: Bremmer’s focus on growth does not sufficiently consider the economic disparities within India. The wealth gap and regional imbalances can impede sustainable development and fuel social unrest. For instance, while cities like Bangalore and Hyderabad thrive, rural areas and smaller towns lag significantly behind, highlighting the uneven distribution of economic benefits. Political and Social Stability: The political landscape in India is complex, with increasing polarization and communal tensions. These factors can destabilize the social fabric and hinder long-term economic growth. Recent events, such as the Citizenship Amendment Act protests and farmers' protests, exemplify underlying social tensions that need more attention. Environmental Challenges: Bremmer’s analysis could delve deeper into India’s severe environmental issues, such as air pollution, water scarcity, and climate change. These issues pose significant risks to public health and agricultural productivity. For instance, the air quality in cities like Delhi often reaches hazardous levels, impacting millions of lives and straining healthcare systems. Implementation of Reforms: The effectiveness of government initiatives often depends on their implementation, which is frequently hampered by bureaucratic inefficiencies and corruption. Bremmer could explore how these challenges affect the realization of economic and technological advancements. The ambitious “Make in India” initiative, for example, has faced hurdles in terms of actual foreign investment and manufacturing growth. Demographic Dividend: While the young population is a significant asset, Bremmer might underplay the importance of quality education and skill development needed to harness this potential. The current education system needs substantial reforms to meet the demands of the AI and digital era. Conclusion: Ian Bremmer’s discussion provides valuable insights into India's rise and the global context. However, a more balanced analysis would address internal challenges such as economic disparities, political instability, environmental issues, and the implementation of reforms. Recognizing and addressing these challenges is crucial for India to fully realize its potential in the AI and robotics era.

As for geopolitics in Asia, the signing of Vietnam and China to use China rail standard to link Vietnam to China is says a lot of their future strategic relationships. China, Korea and Japan just had a leadership summit in Korea, resumed after 4 years is also a dynamic that says they are 100% aligned with the U.S., especially the outcome of the U.S. presidential election. As for the Philippines, Marcus Jr. was coerced because of his family wealth in Hawaii. You can look up the history on the net.

He seems to have contradicted himself when he said that Trump can de-escalate ongoing wars in Ukraine and Palestine. But then again he said Trump is worse for India because the world will be more unstable under him. I disagree that India needs stability. I only say that because the rising defense industry in India (and the jobs it creates) could in fact benefit from a level of conflict that India can responsibly manage. US pulling out of Afghanistan has left a leadership vacuum there that India can and should fulfill. Additionally, I don't think there is such a thing as "real" tariffs against Russia as he mentioned Trump would roll out. The BRICS alliance is energy independent, and the dollar should absolutely lose its place as the world reserve currency. So the world will be just fine with the isolationist US, in fact this may just be better for the rest of the world to grow on their own terms without a hypocrite interfering.

Let me tell you, Trump is a strong leader than Joe Biden. He puts America first even if he has to go against his ally. He wanted France to sign a deal but when Macaron denied , he called Macron and said I will increase tarrif on alcohol from France and I have papers in front of me to tarrif increase and I am about to sign them. Macron signed the deal the next day. He made NATO countries to pay their share. During Covid, he said if India does not send us hydroquinine that we need, so I will stop this... from India. I mean to say that Trump may like Modi but he puts America 1st and he is "sanki" as we call in hindi. Its easy to make Biden agree to your terms but not Trump. As an Indian American, I wish Trump comes back in 2024. Modi is also strong leader so not to worry so much

Thank you brigadier for pointing that out !! These "Political scientist" from United States form their opinions from reading their own media which itself is fed by their establishment. I wonder before predicting anything they should read a profound statement from their own war criminal MR Donald Rumsfeld " There are known knowns , known unknowns and most important unknown unknowns "

Sure, it's because India isn't powerful enough to be a peer competitor to the U.S., and the U.S. needs India as an important strategic partner to contain China and ensure the Asian century will not be realized easily. IMO, India is a future superpower in a hurry, it positions itself as already a superpower enough it's not quite ready.

his initial assessment about india was pessimistic and mostly citing climate, which frankly has overhyped affect on economy. but the "lackluster" growth of india doesnt have to do with structural issues but policy choices made by the nehruvians and utter disaster that were upa 1 & 2. high expectation from modi 3.0 to provide for "spectacular" growth.

Ian's assessment of AI in China isn't quite accurate, the U.S. may lead superficially in a few R&D areas, but China leads the U.S. hand-down in applications. Look up interviews and speeches by Kaifu Lee, one of the godfathers in AI. The only reason I can think of why Ian proposed India to follow the U.S. in AI is that India withits huge population develops own AI would be a bad news for the U.S. as any AI would need a big sample of population.

I never liked this host on India Today. It’s an insult to Indians to ask a foreign “pundit “ to predict India’s future. All American news papers predicted in the last 50 years that India was a fragile democracy . India proved them wrong. USA promoted dictatorship and military rulers and ignored India while making communist China a world power. As an American I don’t mind what my government does as long as it keeps me wealthy and happy. As an American of Indian origin I advise you to listen to Dr. Jayashankar the EA minister. Don’t be lectured by every guy from the west.
