Jim Rogers is just a self-promoting charlatan. He has been wrong far more than he has ever been right. I suspect that he is not even as wealthy as he presents himself because George Soros, when asked about him, always says "Jim was an employee of mine for a few years." He wasn't a partner in the firm. Now to his calls - If you had invested in commodities like he said since 2010 you would have massively underperformed world stock markets. Some commodities are down, some are up. When gold was $1200 he said "don't buy until it drops below $900", and it never did - it kept going up. He preferred silver and silver is flat over the last 10 years. He said to buy sugar and wheat - but farming commodities have hardly moved. His biggest position was the USD, which has been relatively strong but hardly shot out the lights. He was and always has been a massive bull on China. The Chinese stock market is massively down since he was tipping it and he never mentions their human rights records while constantly criticizing the US. So many more calls he has got wrong but you can check for yourself.

Oh - and he has been even saying to short the US bond and stock market for the last 15 years - a terrible call!
