It was so refreshing to hear from an artiest, some one not in it for the money... I will pick up some of his books.

Asimov's I, Robot is one of the best collections to read because between the stories, you get an author's note from Asimov describing how he wrote it, what the editors at the magazines said, what changes he made to satisfy them and why they were right, or why they were wrong and he didn't make the requested changes. A fascinating insight into how an author started selling at 17. IIRC Nightfall comes as an anthology and the reason the story Nightfall reads like a novel is because it's a novella. The rest of the stories are shorts I think (although there may be other editions than the original). His novels are excellent too, and perhaps Apple is going to do Foundation justice? Or else they'll make a total hash of it and it'll be decades before someone else gets to take a crack at it.

Mark's face, while James was talking about the boat metaphor, has made my day. 🤣

Officially at Waffle Stage! I could hear the alarm klaxon as he said it. (Probably also happens when James says the word "journey.")

HELP !!!! - After sending over 300 proposals to agents for my book "Rebel With A View, The Florentine Diaries Of Oscar Wright, 1997 - 2002", a got a note from a small publisher whoo said, "sounds interesting, please send me the full manuscript" which I did....however it has been 6 months with just one other exchange of emails and then silence....my question is, should I continue to wait or self publish ?

Self publish. Traditional publishing has no purpose anymore unless you are lucky enough to get a big paycheck, but you most likely won’t unless you’re lucky enough to have a massive hit.
