Phil is such a strong individual. This song revolves around his mother and how when she was young age she was diagnosed with 34 multiple personalities. Each one with its own handwriting differentiation. One of them was designated "Mycar" which would torment her like a demon. Because of her mental disability it created a serious wedge between her and Phil. He saw her as a witch because she was so distant, but he was so angry and felt weak because he couldn't do anything. In the end she committed suicide (if I remember correctly) because she couldn't take it anymore. Phil being the angry kid he was had the thoughts of "It wasn't fair. It should've been me and everyone else for not helping you". So the demon is Mycar, one of her personalities, and the witch was her mother.

Split personality disorder.... There wasn't a number set....34 distinct personalities are wear were later found her diaries used at many points in this album, including the clean bridge of this song, which was word for word from her diary

Ah, this song... This song really surprised me because it is unlike anything whitechapel has made in the past. They are a deathcore band and cleaning singing doesn't happen that often in deathcore. In there past stuff their was no singing. In the same album that this song is in they have a couple of songs that primarily feature his clean vocals("Hickory Creek" and "Bring Me Home"). The meaning of this song is about the vocalist's mother having schizophrenia and what she wrote in her journal. Also for a suggestion for a Halloween themed band I recommend "Ice Nine Kills" And of course I recommend the following: ~ Septicflesh - "Enemy of Truth" LIVE (I found this recently and it blew my mind) (Symphonic death metal) ~ Heilung - "In Maidjan" LIVE (Nordic folk metal) ~ Dawn of Ouroboros - "Spiral of Hypnotism" (Blackened prog melodeath) ~ Vintersea - "illuminated"/"Crack of Light" (Blackened prog melodeath) ~ Unlucky Morpheus - "Unending Sorceress" (Gothic Japanese-folk death metal) ~ Ihsahn - "Stridig" (Blackened prog metal) ~ Sold Soul - "For whom the banshee cries" (Deathcore)

Your "3-month metal journey" has gotten pretty extreme pretty fast there Tia 😂There are some other forms of metal if this is still too hardcore for ya. Pantera is a good one to check out!

Love this song, it's one of the very few deathcore songs that I know of with clean vocals. Definitely surprised me on my first listen. Glad your cat enjoyed it too!

Hey, Tia! Another great video! This may or may not be related to Halloween but the band, Tallah, literally just released their new album Martiphagy a few days ago and I think you should react to their song, Overconfidence! The story behind the album is pretty dark, it says in the description of the video what the context is, but it's worth a listen! The singer, Justin, takes influences from Slipknot, Korn, and LInkin Park. Tallah is considered a nu-core band :D
