I was never really a fan of The Strokes when they broke out. But within the past 10 years I decided to give them a shot and I'm glad I did. Hope you enjoy this one!

Lol to all the people saying it sounds like Albert Hammond Jr… I mean HE IS PART OF THE STROKES, not everything has to have the Julian vocals style, it’s more about the production side, anyways, nice video man, I hope one day you upload all these gems to music platforms

gives us the impression of being that, do you know why? cuz it's a song similar to the Strokes, but it's not a song by the strokes, exactly how Albert's songs sound

Make a full process video of every part of this production, especially the recording and mixing. It’s what we’re all looking for. Give it a try, and label different sections of the video so that it can be scrubbed through. Would be an amazing guide.

I should’ve clarified, I was writing a song INSPIRED by The Strokes. This was my interpretation and approach. Clearly I couldn’t come close to Julian’s style in my own way. Otherwise I would’ve just covered a Strokes song. Not misunderstood at all. My apologies for not being clear from the beginning.

Interesting how terrible those drums sound in the room vs how good they sound in your mix. Your videos are too short!
@bananalabs2 жыл бұрын
That’s because the camera mic is picking up the whole room when I play. And when you hear it from the drum mics- Of course with some compression and saturation, they sound a lot better! I’ve been thinking about not cutting off so much of the recording part but I feel it’s redundant. That’s just me. But, I think if enough people hit me up then Incan leave in the whole or most of the recording process. The mixing part is a while other animal.
@jasonk1252 жыл бұрын
@@bananalabs Ok, if you are determined to hide the secret sauce...🤣... But honestly, would love to see the mixing part also. Did you ever show how you miked the drums?
@bananalabs2 жыл бұрын
Haha! 🤫 No, but I will definitely include that in the next video so people know it’s the actual sound of the kit and absolutely no drum samples whatsoever.
