Just to speak on the extremity of Carol’s actions: At this point I think Carol killing Karen and David is a direct result of her feeling guilt about not being more pro active to keep Sophia safe coupled with her promise to keep Mika and Lizzie safe I think she did her best with Sophia but she hardened after having so much hope only to have been wrong the entire time She watched other people (Daryl (Rick) being almost self-sacrificial for the group And she witnessed Shane do some unthinkable things to keep the group safe and especially to keep his family alive All those things plus Ed formed her into a weird if not misguided amalgamation of ultimate protector.

The first half of season 4 is such a wild ride of emotions. And the soundtrack, in this season specifically, is AMAZING. There are a lot of songs from this season that I still listen to regularly after hearing them on the show. I can't believe you're already coming up on the mid-season point!

Rick saved carols life by sending her away. The mindset Tyrese was in he would have killed her. Remember he told Rick find who did this and bring them to me. Yeah I’ve always wondered how the girl lost her foot bone and all. I love Daryl and Michonne’s relationship also. Daryl is like the brother who tells Michonne like it is. I love the song that’s playing when Rick is driving back. On to E5

Tell your friend that in the comics Tyreese and Carol were lovers, he slept with Michonne and Carol killed herself because of it.

Melissa McBride is on another Level I s2g. Carol and Rick together are so good. You hardly believe she is the same woman who was scared of her husband and lost and alone after Sophia. What I dont understand is why they couldn't just...lock her up...lmfao they're literally in a Prison. She murdered people and got kicked out of Prison 😂😂😂

One of the things I love most about this show and these characters is that there are no easy answers, and none of them are perfect. None of them are right all the time. You can easily argue both sides of this conflict. That said, I do strongly disagree that Rick was right to banish Carol, any more than Carol was right to kill two of their own. He's not the leader anymore and didn't even want to be on the council. She went rogue in killing Karen and David, but Rick went rogue in banishing her. Rick could have taken Carol back to the prison. With almost everyone sick, they needed all the help they could get back there. And there was no reason for her to kill anyone else, so she wouldn't have been a danger at that point. Or, he could have locked her up until a decision was made and then kicked her out. But he wanted to do it while Daryl was gone. Also, Rick acknowledged that protecting her from Tyreese wasn't the reason. Like he said, it was because he didn't trust her anymore. You could see how much it bothered him each time she disagreed with him and challenged his decisions (like going out to fix the water line or sending the couple out to help forage). Rick knows that banishing someone in that world is basically a death sentence. Even Daryl said in Season 3 that no one could make it on their own anymore. It bothered him, yes, but he did it anyway, just like Carol did. It's a really awesome story parallel between them. Good job, writers!

This was a pretty good slow episode slow is important sometimes A lot happened because we got to know a little more about Bob and his addiction we got to see Daryl opening up more and accepting that Rick and Co are his family now and We got the chance to discuss The Carol and Rick dilemma as for this slow episode itself really enjoyed it I loved the character development and everything about it.

Adore the scene of Rick exciling Carol - the song playing as Rick drives off is a regular on my Spotify playlist. Such fantastic acting. There's a few ex wire actors apart from Bob -Tyreese is in it and of course a big character (F.G.) that is yet to be introduced.

Great episode The acting between Melissa McBride and Andrew Lincoln was just amazing If you can tell everything Rick is thinking based on his facial expressions then you know he’s an incredible actor I don’t think he’d planned on sending her off immediately but the trip was to gain insight on her motives so he could make the decision Unfortunately for her her coldness towards the couple he was trying to recruit and her showing how capable she was is what helped him make his decision I do not agree with him thinking she’d hurt Carl or lil ass kicker though when she did what she did to help protect them Sure she was wrong but I’m still team Carol on this Rick shouldn’t make this decision alone there’s a council for that.

I love that you corrected the stupid subtitles. LOL! I'm not defending Carol, because I think it was ultimately the wrong call, whether it would have worked or not. (I'm not a big fan of "the ends justify the means" philosophy.) But per interviews at the time, that was Rick imagining how it might have happened, not an actual flashback. It could have happened that way, or Karen could have been much worse off when Carol killed her. We don't know because that was all in Rick's head.

I really don't like apples like that. Strong episode. I understand both pro Rick vs pro Carol side taking but what Rick says at the end is covered by what Anthony mentions at the start. Its what they have a council for. To counter Carols its the same thing argument, Big diff between unhinged angry punisher actively trying to end you vs a virus. The way Daryl makes bob cower is freaking great. I hate what happened to the girl but so you know the cut leg is a mistake kind of like the bent rubber rifle at Woodburry. MVP Daryl worst was blonde hippie guy. He def could have done more to keep his girl alive. also andrea

Tomatoes are a fruit. Rick kicked out Carol for doing the same thing Carl did- killing someone thinking it was the right thing for everyone. Carl wasn't apologetic, either. Obvi he's not going to exile his kid but he could have seen carols perspective a bit more. WHY couldn't bob fit any meds in with the bottle? I get why he wanted the alcohol though. Dead ppl eating everyone around you? I'd want to be drunk, too. But at least grab some medicine with it.

The fact that it didn't work sucks, but it's not Carol's fault. It doesn't change a thing about Carol's justification in doing it. She was TRYING to stop it from spreading. It didn't work, but her intentions were good. I'm sure she thought with her whole heart and mind that it would work.
