For me, one of the things that is so chilling about this scene is the way they tied almost every death back to the heart monitors. For example, you see the first guy get grabbed and he is broken free and then you get such a scary sense of mortality when the Indo steps forward and crushes him and then immediately after it shows his heart monitor go blank. He didn't even have enough time to process he just got crushed to death, he just was there one minute and the next gone. Same exact thing happened to the guy who didn't see it coming when the tree was knocked over on top of him. He saw what was about to happen but didn't have any moment to process it. This is one of the VERY FEW death scenes in film that actually gets me chills to think about because they kept tying it back to the heart monitors. Such a smart choice by the director do do this.

I love the dialogue from Owen here. "You raised her in captivity, she does not know what she is" like, even animals are taught when to kill and why. There is a difference between an animal killing because its parents taught it to kill for food, than having to figure it out yourself, with no reference. "She will kill everything" is simply because there is no order in that intelligent mind of hers, just chaos, curiosity, fear.

The CGI itself isn't bad. It's just highly overused. What made Jurassic Park's CGI unique was that they did everything in their power to avoid using it, only reserving it for anything that couldn't be done practically. MhazG yeah, I haven’t watched this movie in a while so I forgot she could lower her body heat or whatever too to be undetectable by thermal. You’re right, radar/sonar would probably be too inundated in a jungle like that. Even so, the I rex is a massive creature, and I mean that in terms of her actual mass. Maybe some form of X Ray? Though they would probably be hesitant since the owner guy had already expressed how expensive of an asset it was. Hmm. I’m sure there’s some answer of how you could detect it but it would certainly be a tricky problem.

They thought they were in control, that everything was fine, and Owen was the only one in the room who knew that they weren't prepared at all for what Indominus would do. 0:50 I don't know how they still managed to think of the money they spent creating Indominus to not have used lethal weapons. Stupidity in its purest form. Wasn't it already obvious that this thing is stronger and smarter than a T-Rex? Of course you can just kill it. They are still smart enough to have brought live-fire weapons with them though. Which is pretty much how real life zoos and wildlife parks operate too- if an animal classified as dangerous escapes, you try to recapture with tranquilizers or other method. If it seems like it will breach the facility perimeter or threatens human life, then lethal force is used. The troopers should have immediately opened fire with firearms after their commander died, but that would have taken time to transition from tranqs to live rounds. So I can’t fault them too much for trying to contain her with the weapons they already had at the ready. Panic and all that.

Claire and Owens dynamic was such a fun part of this movie. He's fully aware of how to progress the situation and is thinking realistically, hes aware of the control he needs to exert to keep everyone safe. Claire on the other hand is absolutely losing it trying to appeal to the higher ups wishes while knowing that she's in the wrong and dooming people. That little yell of "you are not in control!" when she isn't either is brilliant.

I think part of the difference is Claire is (obviously) a women. A women with visible emotion. Most of the "moneybags" type characters are entire men or stone-cold women who audiences never relate to. Claire is more sympathetic because 1.) She's a major character (they don't give much relation or detailed backstory to side or minor characters), and 2.) She's shown having some conflict about loyalty to her work and loyalty to her family (her nephews).

The man literally killed a superior, immortal being trying to make the entire universe part of himself and gave up that power as a sacrifice, he also held an infinity stone in his hand to prevent another powerful being from destroying an entire planet, but no, let's just treat him as the peppy side kick who gets into arguments with Thor over who is more manly.

@@Maniac742 Yeah, and the thing is, he is actually smart. Street-smart and resourceful. The issue isn't really his abilities it's just the fact that he somehow hasn't done enough to earn respect. But whether the character's who work with him can see that or not, it is important for the audience to recognize that he is not an idiot. I've seen a lot of comments about how it was his fault that they were unable to defeat Thanos in Infinity War because his emotions over Gamora got the best of him. Spoiler alert: he's human. Feeling emotion is part of that and unfortunately, our response to having our heart ripped out isn't always the most rational one. Anyway, just my opinion. :)

I like the theory that Indominus wasn't actually as smart as they claimed it to be, just that the humans were highly incompetent. The clawmarks? It actually tried to escape that way, cause the enclosure was far too small, causing claustrophobia. Lowered body temperature? It went into hibernation from overheating due to a combination of the islands climate, the small size of the enclosure and the amount of plants just stuffed in there. Clawing out the tracker? It seems to not be a permanently active one, so when it was activated, the signal irritated the I-Rex causing it to "scratch that itch".

They arent being true to life cause idiocy is the only answer when you're trying to take down a giant man eating killing machine that's hundreds of times bigger than you, with nothing more than a few tazers and a mini shot gun to slow it down. Also you're not gonna take the advice of your animal expert on the fact it can blend in like Camilion? These people are stupid, they wouldnt act this way even if they were worried about losing their assets. Deaths is a bigger loss than an animal. The only risk worse than losing your 27 million dollar Dino is your multi BILLION dollar bussiness going extinct because you didnt handle with care.

The lawsuits resulting from the deaths of all the troopers sent to capture the indominus are going to be far more than 30 million. In the books one death of any of the visitors to the island was around 15 million IIRC in settlement costs. This is a lot of people. Then when all the visitors are attacked by the dinosaurs that racks up even more money.

@gsaldana22
@gsaldana22 4 жыл бұрын
That depends on what technology the device was using. It would have to be large either way. If it's gps-based, it would have to have a good enough receiver to receive GPS signals through the dino skin and be able to retransmit the data either via GPS uplink or LMR frequencies. Since we learn in the second movie that all the dinos can be tracked from the control room at a high point with a radio tower, I'm guessing most of the dinosaurs' trackers run on LMR frequencies, most likely UHF 900mhz ISM band. Could possibly be 400-500mhz, but not likely due to restrictions for antenna size.
