Kingdom of Morocco is the new name of our country adopted in 1957,befor 1957 Morocco was calle « The chérifien empire » so that’s why the national anthem is called the cerifian anthem. Cherifian basically means honorous,but for moroccans it represents the relation that links the kings of Morocco to mohammed peace be upon him , so everyone in Morocco that is related any a way or another to our prophet is called a cherif .

Thank you for the support, I'm not surprised you are from Indonesia, Indonesia showed amazing support to Morocco in world cup and is a beloved and respected Muslim nation, with kind, open minded and honorable people. Salam, sister. Thank you for your support! I have traveled in Indonesia multiple times, staying for several months in various places such as Java, Bali, Gili, and Lombok. During my stay, I had the opportunity to live with local families and experience their culture firsthand. I have to say, I am deeply in love with the kindness and warmth of the Indonesian people and their rich culture. On another note, the Cherifian refers to Cherifian Empire that is a Moroccan dynasty, and our current king is a descendant of this lineage. King Mohammed VI of Morocco is a direct descendant of the Cherifian Empire, as he is a member of the Alawite dynasty.

Cherifian is the adjective for those (the family) who descend from the Prophet Muhammad Aleyhi Salam Morocco is ruled by the Alaouite dynasty/family, who is Cherifien, thus we are talking about the Cherifian kingdom (and before the european colonization, Morocco was the Cherifian Empire, and stretched his power to the Senegal River and to Timbuktu (actual Mali) Fun fact: we had multiple battle against the Ottomans, and they never succeeded in conquering us
