Martabak is often referred to as the "King of Indonesian Street Food"!
Tonight we are in the streets of Bali again to find if there is truth in this statement.
You actually get two types of martabak:
Martabak telor:
It is often described as a spicy folded omelet pancake with bits of vegetables. The filling batter is made from eggs, some meat (minced beef or chicken), spring onions and salt and pepper. The thin Martabak skin will be folded into an envelope shape, deep fired, until very crispy.
Martabak manis:
A very popular sweet treat in Indonesia which consists of a thick and sweet chewy pancake with honeycomb texture, soaked in butter inside and out and filled with generous fillings. This dessert is guaranteed to satisfy your sweet tooth!
