This is Sebastien from Canada. Although I know very little about him, it is obvious that Sebastien is an experienced rower. Nevertheless, there are two major issues which should be addressed in order to go faster...

Aram... Thank you!, your right on! I experienced exactly what you found in this video, while I was erging yesterday. What is missing is that his display on that erg does not show him is length of travel, or the effect of opening the hips a little more to get more stroke length/power/speed. I was astounded how the power output changed when I increased my travel by opening up the hips. AIt is a game changer for anyone who is focused on looking good as a rower and not on the output. I just started using a program called ErgData on my cell phone while using my machine, it has all the data that you need to help one find that sweet spot you are lacking in your movements and robbing you of your power output.

If you look at the feet, they only touch the stretcher with the forefoot for a long time of the stroke. I guess that is another sign that he does not use his complete body wight for pulling at the beginning of the stroke. What is your opinion on that? Is this a relevant thing?

Yes, he could lower his feet setting a couple of holes.

Absolutely. I agree. I see this quite a lot recently. However, the C2 is pretty low with its foot stretcher position anyway. We'd have to measure the seat to heel distance.

He's just over activating is traps, but the retraction of the shoulder blades during rowing is not only normal, it helps accelerate the boat. Please use bony structures in reference to arrows and force otherwise they are meaningless Second problem is due to the timing of opening the hips vs when the heels contact the foot plates. Even when you say "this is position here is excellent" you are just not seeing that his heels are not planted and therefore cannot engage all the large leg and hip muscles. Lastly, he doesnt need to lay back further, he needs to use the stability he's creating through is posture and core tension to better pull with the arms. Definitely not about the chest here because the chest muscles push. Common mistake is not pulling the elbows and shoulder blades back with the hands, leading to a weak finish

I have no idea what you mean about the heels needing to be planted in order to engage large muscles. From my physics background, I would say it's the other way around: If the large muscles were fully activated, they would drive his heel onto the heel plate.
