The Lid of CF cannot open when CF is running that interlock is being provided with current reading.The use of V.F.D. ( VARIABLE FREQUENCY DRIVE ) in centrifuges is a great advancement. The centrifuge runs with high starting and braking torque. Although clutch pulleys and hand brakes are enough to do the job, the V.F.D. does it electronically. The wear and tear of brake liners and clutch liners is negligible. It is worthwhile to invest in a V.F.D. The variable speed is to save power.
