Great overview on how to leverage real time data collected with IIoT technology. Even more relevant today post- pandemic so that companies can rely on a single source of truth collected by smart devices. Humans are good at analyzing data, not collecting data.

Great explanation based on theory, the execution of just two concepts (first and third) required a great deal of money and understanding. As a comment OEE is a concept for maintenance, not production.

Antonio, thank you for the comment. How OEE is used is based on which level in the organization the stakeholder operates. OEE and TEEP, in aggregate, is used by executives to monitor capacity and apply the strategic sales to the current infrastructure (do I build a new plant or do I make our current operations more efficient?). At the plant level, OEE is used to focus responsibility. Low Availability indicates a maintenance issue, low performance indicates an operations issue, low quality indicates an issue with OEM or raw materials. We will be shooting additional content on this subject.

What is the significance of SQL in the automation stack that you explained. Or in other words, where does SQL fit in the automation stack..?

A persistence layer, like SQL, does have a place in the architecture that Walker is describing. However, a Unified Namespace should exist to classify and categorize data generated at all levels of the enterprise. Hey walker, thanks ..thanks a lot for making such a informative video on I 4.0 , I am sales Manager with OEM in IIoT, this video helped me a lot to understand the world of IIOT, information from videos helped me gain confidence to ask decision makers from prospect companies to start looking at IIOT from today or your competitors will. I have a question: in india there big companies manufacturing low value products at mass scale...they find it hard to invest or rather think of IIOT ...how to convince them to start looking at it as a must have thing than a luxury thing... Plz help.

There's a lot of waste in that kind of operation. Quality may not be much of a concern or focus due to the low-value, low-price products, but efficiency and OEE should be, and these can be improved with the right data.
