As a black man of Jamaican decent born and raised in West London, I 100% loved this reaction. First time I heard this song I was out n about running errands, when this song came on it caught me off guard, At first I was thinking why is my boy Em talking like this, and I wasn’t a fan of the beat and chorus, then half way through with the beat switch it clicked and I had to run it back from the top, I was listening intently while walking around an arts and crafts store not even needing anything but focused on the song,probably being watched the whole time thinking I’m going to shoplift cos I wear baggy clothes and a new era cap. 🇯🇲🇬🇧👏🏿✊🏿

I can’t speak on the States, but when I was young (I’m white) here in Canada I’ve been followed through Stores. I’ve been held at Gun Point by a Cop. And yes, any kind of Law Enforcement gets me nervous (being pulled over, going through customs). I’ve had US Customs ask why I was so nervous, and then they pulled us in for a secondary inspection. Edit: Our Police held a Storm Trooper at gun point if you ever seen that viral video.

I'm a year than Eminem. I loved his first three albums, but then kind of stopped paying attention because I was too caught up in adult life to keep listening to new music. I heard his songs popping up on the radio here and there over the years, and thought they were good, but not as cool as his old stuff. I figured those were the highlights and that he'd probably fallen off and gotten soft and repetitive the way 99% of artist do, but i Just started listening to all of the stuff he's done since then, and I can't believe the way he's changed and grown and maintained his honesty, and humor, brilliance throughout. I can't believe this Revival Album got panned. This should have had people talking grammies, pulitzer and nobel prize. This might be his best work.

Begs the question though I actually felt myself tearing up, thinking about him feeling like he might have been better off to have died after his first few albums came out and he was on top of the world. I felt like he absolutely opened a vein and bled on the page in that song, and it was really beautiful, and brilliant, some of his best work. And people respond with things like "I didn't really fuck with the beat on that track. He is 100% right when he says the album went over the critics' heads. It sucks him having to say that himself thought because it always sounds like sour grapes. Glad to hear Logic took up for him.

Released in 2017… The severity of the situation was already beyond belief, before it exploded in 2020. 😔 It’s such an awful situation and many people won’t openly engage in conversation about it. Revival revived my love of Eminem. I was a big fan back in the day and maintained lobe for those albums, but as I got older my taste in music changed. Revival threw me back into the Eminem hole. The guys so talented. Love your reactions Cliff 👍

I'm SO GLAD you covered this song today! People don't understand that this was never meant to be a club banger, not meant to be *enjoyed.* That beat is SUPPOSED to make us feel uncomfortable. I (hispanic) got pulled over by a state trooper (African american) in the middle of the night (2am) while driving on an empty high way (no one else on the road within a mile of me). He pulled me over for driving in the 2nd to left lane on a 4 lane highway where it splits into 2 later on. He gave me a "warning" for something that will inhibit the pathway for emergency vehicles like ambulances and such.

Man, people that think that just because a certain thing "belongs" to a subset of people means that others can't enjoy them just boggles my mind. I'm the whitest rando you'll ever meet, and I used to not really like rap all that much. Adding an edit cause I finished the video completely now. As a Canadian, I can honestly say that we often look at those situations in the US and think wtf. Yes, similar things happen here, but not to the same extent. We do have uncover cop cars, but they're still recognizable as cops lol. Also, don't apologize for talking. This song is definitely one made to open a dialogue and talk about the issues. It's important. We're all on stolen land. Land was taken from the Indigenous people. Slaves were brought along with the Irish and English to serve them...There is absolutely no reason so have such an unwavering pride for either of our countries. I got pulled over three days ago and the cop was driving a brand New Chevy Malibu that was dark maroon and had limo tint on all windows minus the windshield with one red light and blue light in the top corners of the windshield!!
