After 911, 3 of us from the ponderosa I worked at went up to sign up, 1 died via an ied, another by his own hand after he rotated home, and me. I was rejected not because at the time I was 500 pounds but because of my knees,totally shot then ,bone on bone. I stayed in touch with theif families as long as i could but came a point when the guilt stopped me, that Im alive and they arent, to my friends to my brothers, raises a pint. 20 yrs on I wont forget you.

New stuff from Home Free will not get blocked as they own their own label since late 2019. This is an amazing tribute to our Veterans....this is hauntingly beautiful & their musicianship is on full display. These guys are so dang talented, and there are still people that think they are country bumpkins....these are trained professionals

While many of us are crossover fans of Home Free, PTX, and Voice Play, Home Free is where I gravitate to on a daily basis. Their attention and unapologetic messages about sensitive social issues and their patriotism has launched a respect for these men with beautiful souls. The world is a better place with the conversations that have been started across the globe because of the messages that many people didn't even know they needed. Thank you for your genuine reaction. This is actually a cover of the Club For Five arrangement. Home Free asked if they could use it, and Club For Five sent them the charts. Club For Five praised Home Free and loved it. All the arrangement is Club For Five EXCEPT for the "echo" sequences those are Home Free all the way, and Club For Five loved the unique addition. Tuukka, the master bass of Club For Five is one of Tim's early inspirations.

Thank you for your honest, heartfelt reaction. I have a new level of respect for you after listening to your comments. I appreciate you taking the time to express your reverence and thankfulness for our incredible military and veterans. My son has been a Marine for 4 years now and while I have always supported our military, past and present, I have a better understanding of what the families of military members go through. Home Free are huge supporters of our military and they have used their platform repeatedly to remind people of the sacrifices that are made by them and how they should not be forgotten.(Tim and Austin headlined a benefit concert raising money for veterans just a couple months ago.) I think they did this song also to address the heightened disrespect and lack of support that has been present in the last few years especially. I apologize for the lengthy comment but felt compelled to write it. Again, many thanks and much respect for this reaction.(Just a couple weeks ago they dropped their rendition of "My Country Tis of Thee" if you're interested.🇺🇸💗

The Falkland war inspired Mark Knopfler to write this and Dire Straits released it in 1985. Home Free made it live again and perfectly imparts the very somber message in it. Your reaction is pretty much how most of us have reacted. Awestruck!

I agree, although personally I wish the video was more about veterans in general, rather than just US ones, as that was Mark's intention. I love this cover, of course it is missing Mark's guitar work, which is unfortunate, I was wondering what it would be like if Mark and them did a collaboration.

My dad was a WW2 vet, and my son served 21 years in the Corps, including a year in Iraq, so I feel this song to my soul. I am a member of Wounded Warriors and Tunnel2Towers because these people need all the help they can get. This piece, performance-wise, is a masterpiece of harmony, vocal purity and cinematography. I have done my share of chorale work, and I know how much work goes into a performance....the hours and hours of repetition, memorization, synchronization.....and these guys have been touring all year. They work their butts off, not just to perform, but to create excellence. First time here....new subscriber. I'll be back.

As of about 2 days ago when this video begins I give a little giggle because I've learned that Tim's dog Satchmo is laying the floor right up against the back of Chance's feet. Then the harmonies start and that humor goes away and I'm hit with the chills and the tears and the sadness and the heavy emotions that this song (whether sung by Dire Straits or Home Free) has always dropped me into. Even after hundreds of times listening (and watching the videos) to this (including the couple dozen and counting by HF) that feeling is still there and the tears still come. Thank you, sir, for your reaction. And don't be afraid of showing the deep emotions this tune brings on, you aren't the first reactor to tear up. Blessings to you and yours, and your veteran friends.

This was stunning wasn’t it?!!! Loved the harmonies. Loved Tim’s low notes. Loved the echoes, I got chills with those echoes. Loved the black and white film. One minute in and I had tears rolling down my cheeks. I come from a military family with generations of young men both before me and after me serving our country. My father an two of my uncles received a purple heart in the second world war. All survived, but there were physical as well as invisible scars left behind. This song and way it was done is amazing. Hauntingly beautiful. Home Free is made up of five true American Patriots. They value and honor of soldiers. Thank you for your honest reaction.

They always make a cover song something special! But credit to Dire Straits, who wrote the song about the Falkland war. Mark Knopfler spent a lot of money to soldiers, to treat there ptsd. Home Free did an excellent job! Stay safe and take the text serious, WE ARE FOOLS TO MAKE WAR ON OUR BROTHERS IN ARMS! In Switzerland we say „ imagine there‘s a war and nobody goes to join!“

I think it’s important to understand the song is not just talking about American Military being Brothers in Arms but our allies and enemies. They may not be friends but they are all there for the same reason.

One of my all time favorite songs. I still prefer the Dire Straits version, with the soul of the guitars and Knopfler's voice and it has been on a constant play list for 30 plus years. This is an awesome cover though and I could see where people would love it. The original song does lend itself well to acapella and this group does it so well.

I say let the psycho/sociopathic politicians (& their corporate, & ultimately bankster, owners) all go kill *each other* ,while we the 99.99%, get on with our lives in peace. The Dire Straits original is striking itself, but this arrangement & performance is deeply *haunting* Managing to put this together from Mark Knopfler's guitar-driven original invloves genius imho. Probably the most moving vocals-only piece I've ever come across. #Transcendent
