He had been climbing the fences the previous years in CART before his rookie year at Indy in 01. He won a few CART races that first year with Penske in 2000.

Like a nyone on a top team on any level i step back and meh. And helio was there for awhile. 2021 500 be was not top tier and winding down laps i was rooting. Had others to cheer for ,long race , who knew. So cool to see this story play out. Fan happy to see an old one my age on a small team win. Should be his best win in his mind. Great race. Long live CART/Champcar.

He just won his 4th Indy 500 joining The 3 most elite drivers in Indy history being Rick Mears, AJ Foyt and Al Unser Sr also his first Indycar win was the Indy 500 in 2001

I predict this guy will win the Indy 500 for a 4th time this year. He can hardly miss since he is a Formula 1 driver, which is several notches above Indy drivers.
