Thanks for sharing your experience with the Tooli Art Pens! They've been working really well for me in my art journal, it's good to know that they don't last on shoes and some surfaces. I agree with you, I wish a lot of these pens came individually so that if you ran out of a color, you would be able to purchase another individual pen. For the colors I use the most (like black, white and gold) I invest in the Posca pens because I know I'll use them a lot more than other colors. I'm glad that you like the Artistro paint pens, I've had them quite a while and they haven't given me any issues. The Posca's are fantastic, but I agree with you, they're not inexpensive. But it's nice to know that there are some cheaper markers out there! I got the Tooli-Art ones a couple of weeks ago and so far so good. I really liked the range of pastel colors! The venting trick makes a big difference in how quickly new markers prime. Definitely try it when you get a new set of markers! Thanks for watching and for commenting!

Yes, it's amazing how that one small thing, venting the nib can make such a difference on how effectively you can prime a paint pen. I'm glad that you found the video helpful!

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with your pens. I just pulled my Artistro pens out the other day after not using them for about 6 months. I did find that a few of the nibs had come crusted paint on them. I ended up using a baby wipe and scrubbing the paint off the tips. I had to shake them super well and several times and it took several times priming them to get them working again, but I eventually got them up and running again. Honestly, if the nibs are getting cranky and they're not working, you can try pulling the tips, scrubbing them with soap and water, rinsing them well and re-inserting them into the pen. When they are being difficult, my thought is that I have nothing to lose by being a bit rougher with the nibs. I hope that helps!

That’s a great observation and I do agree. The larger chisel nib paint pens clog less, but I find I generally only use paint pens for finer details over using them for large areas. I like the paint pens with nibs that can be removed and cleaned because it does help with the clogging. But if clogging is a concern, using larger paint pens will help with that. @hopalongstudio thats why i pick brush tip everytime. Versatile sizes and never have to prime them.
