This is the infamous 2003 VINCENT GALLO Interview by Hikari Takano for the first time on KZfaq!
This audio has been featured on www.HikariTakano.com & www.HikariTakano.co since April 16, 2010.
Gallo & his corrupt attorney Joseph P. Costa of CostaLaw (formerly Costa, Besser, Childress) filed a frivolous lawsuit against Takano on May 2, 2016. 13 years after the interview & 6 years after the posting on Takano's website.
Takano & First Amendment attorney Jeff Lewis responded with an anti-SLAPP motion. Judge William F. Fahey heard the instant Special Motion to Strike at Los Angeles Superior Court on July 11, 2016. Judge Fahey granted the anti-SLAPP motion & the plaintiff, Gallo, was ordered pay defendant, Takano's, attorney fees. However, Gallo & Costa filed a notice of appeal with the court, & the case was not finalized until March, 2017 when Gallo gave up the appeal.

Vincent Gallo is contradictory. On the one hand he says again and again that money is the only relevant motivation for him. On the other hand, he has very strong view on art and artists, he acted mostly in artistically ambitious films and the two films that he created himself were far from money-grabbing run-of-the-mill flicks. He seems to CARE about art while wishing to abandon it altogether. And I think he hates art for making him care.

If you think about it the guys that really only care about money are not gonna tell you that's their only goal and will pretend they care a lot about the stuff they do to make money. There's some irony in saying you only want to get paid and if you say it so blatantly you probably don't mean it that much. I think it's more venting about how you really would like to just focus on money when you're actually unable to cause you care more about other things

@@greenvelvet Brown Bunny is an excellent film, I hadn't watched it until now because of the ridiculous critic response. The visuals alone carry the film through a dialog free hour, often with only one actor onscreen. To keep a film interesting, for an hour, with no talking, and just one actor, is the type of feat that you can't understand the difficulty of until you think about trying to do it yourself.

I totally see what your saying and I agree. His acting for sure wasn't great IMO then again he has little experience especially compared to his co star Christina Ricci. His real life issues came out in the film which IMO hindered his and her performance. I understand it was part of the story but again I think if he was happier and more positive it would of worked out better for him. Look at the way he speaks. Eff this, eff that. He did literally EVERYTHING himself. Which is very impressive.

Thank goodness! Someone who finally nails the Spike Jonze BS. I have never understood what people saw in him or his films. Look, I dont dig every thing Gallo has done. What I absolutely love is that he doesnt give a shit that I dont like something. He’s making art, he’s chasing his own passion, he is forced to do what he does, theres no other choice for this guy. THAT is what we should expect from every artist. In music, films, painting, sculpture, doesnt matter…..all of it. Get real or get lost. If we had a populace of people truly interested in art, these types like Vincent Gallo would b the biggest names, the Oscar winners, the go to’s for opinion, NOT the milk toast crowds we have instead. A film like Back to the Future or Erin Brockovich should b the rare moment we all relax in now & then. Like the soup cracker they give ya at a whine tasting to clean ur pallet. Instead, we swim in a sea of that vanilla nonsense & wait patiently for single moments of greatness. Not because there aren’t enough passionate artists in the world, but because the average viewer is so lame.

Yea I was thinking that when he really gave it to Sophia & frances. I heard frances talking about gallo in promoting the film & he adored him. I think thats one of the reasons why gallo wanted this scrubbed from you tube bc of his honesty about people. I believe this was for a Japanese racing mag so he doubted anyone in america would read it but who could have foreseen how huge yt & the internet would get where anything u say and do on record will show up on here. I saw a local news clip from 1978 with a way before fame lead singer of r.e.m. was being interviewed bc he was one of the people that dressed up for the rocky horror picture show . Like I'm sure he never though ever some random news clip where hes interviewed for local news dressed as Tom curry's character would be on yt from 40 years ago . I remember stipe was quiet about his sexuality but if yt was around and u saw that clip already with an inkling he was gay that clip would have put it to rest a looking time ago. Same with anything like if the moon landing was faked theyd have no idea it would be in yt analyzed over and over .

I was not making a judgement that gallo did not know he was recorded for the first part either. But the guy took down my comments I guess bc it goes towards gallos narrative. I dont know why he would take my comment down bc he won the lawsuit so it doesnt matter what I say. I just think if I was gallo I'd want this down too bc he became very friendly with Coppola & would not want a recording of him attacking his daughter or him as " leeches" or calling coppola a " fat pig" I dont know how gallo approached this interviewer about taking it off his site but if he asked politely I'd think why not be cool & oblige .

Vincent Gallo is a genius behind the camera ad in front of the camera but legend has it. He’s got a big mouth.

I met Vincent Gallo... He was on his was to Livonia Michigan and my lady friend contacted him through his email...anyways to make a long story short he met her at a holiday inn in livonia and told her she was too fat...he took a picture and went on his way. I guess he was in Livonia because he was driving to Canada to get some guitars or some shit. So fuckin funny.

Wow I hope that story isn’t true. He’s a jerk if he told her that she’s too fat. He should’ve just hung out with her for a little while. Saying that to a girl can be very hurtful. No wonder a lot of people hate him. I remember he told roger ebert that he was fat because ebert said the brown bunny was the worst movie of the year.

After listening to "Part 1" of this interview, I can see why he tried to get the release blocked. Absolutely brutal and raw - typical conversation you could find yourself in while drinking at some trendy sh*tty dive bar in hollywood.

This interview is interesting. He is certainly very smart and not afraid to mention it. There's an interview on here where he is wearing a tracksuit and talking about how he was the smartest person in his school which I can believe. Eric Roberts is certainly not attractive I always thought he had one of those faces you wanted to punch. He also doesn't know what he is talking about when it comes to movies which is quite surprising. Wait a minute, did Eric Roberts sleep with Julia? Why didn't that make huge news, must be fake. I don't think he would do that but it would explain her timid/abused persona shes cultivated on screen in sleeping with the enemy.
