Synopsis | Queen of the Cross (2010)
Not so long ago, it was hard to tell the cops from the crims on Sydney's notorious vice strip - the Golden Mile. The woman you'll meet on Sunday night was both. Kim Hollingsworth started out as a Kings Cross prostitute before fulfilling a lifelong ambition to become a police officer. Then she went undercover, exposing the bad guys on both sides of the thin blue line. It cost her career. And it could have claimed her life, as well. Now with the latest instalment of "Underbelly", Kim and that whole sordid era are back in the spotlight. And, as Michael Usher discovered, she's surprisingly comfortable with having her life up on the screen for everyone to watch and judge.

In the world of prostitution how many how many men actually come out for pleasure how many come out for your pleasure or how many come there to learn pleasure because they didn't feel like they were satisfying their wives for their girlfriends or how many after the satisfiation of a woman had to turn over into narcotics because there wasn't another door that says I can show you a place that can help you train so you don't got to go into that

I remember when i was 16 and got off the train one night with a friend at the cross. We thought we were champions when the bouncers said we could come in. We had 50 bucks between us. Was 10 each to get in then a stripper offered to get us a beer each which was another 10 each then she took our last 10 for her service. Within 5 minutes another bouncer kicked us out for being under age. Was the biggest rip off ever. But that's not the story we told all our mates at school

This is simply unacceptable. Code of conduct (NZ) states that an officer must behave in a manner that does not leave police in disrepute (even when off duty). If people really want change within police then flood them with thousands of letters of complaint from the public - they have to respond to every letter.

the beautiful and innocent days when we could afford to blindly trust love and relationship till some guy some asshole some "first boyfriend" broke our heart broke our trust and broke our future. women don't need fall into prostitution to break from the chains the trace of the exes, but learn and arise that salvation is from self loving and self healing, not from resorting to any man or any relationship.

Ridiculous, most people get their heart broken, and most people don’t get run through by 1000s of guys to get over it. It’s an excuse plain and simple.

She is famous for two jobs, prostitution which isn’t the most respectable of careers. Then the police force which is one of the most corrupt of careers. With those career choices she sounds like a keeper

The thing I dont understand is that she dosnt agree to cops gaining from prostitution (rightly) but she has no qualms about putting herself 'on the streets' again. Glad she used the profits for a horse sanctuary, but from comments below, it looks like it didnt end well. Hoping she finds something to do with the rest of her life. One day the looks arnt going to be there - and I speak from experience!

We have a show on here at the moment the Last King of The Cross. Would be interested to hear her thoughts. :) Good on her. It is still an employment. Stigmatized by society. But somehow, still a part of our society. So much risk. This was one of the main reasons to legalise Prostitution in N.Z. I would like to say it has bought some equity/equality for the girls, but no, like most things in our Western Society, still too many with Rose-Tinted Spectacles. :) A statement I once had said to me by someone I was working with me, which has always resonated. "I have never paid for sex, then again I have had a divorces, so perhaps I did". :) Still the gangs and drugs have too much influence. :)

Yeah the last king of the Cross hit me quite hard when they showed the Vietnamese gang dealing heroin . In the 90s I lived in a suburb where we had that kind of stuff happening in Perth
