For those who don’t know, this is called a “stress shoot” the idea is to replicate combat fatigue and still be able to do your job. This is why the leadership is keeping track of the time. It’s also why none of the leadership is taking let in the PT. They need to stay focused on safety as this is potentially a dangerous event.

Your right made to simulate a real firefight when your adrenalin is up a your heart is racing but these dumb assholes have never been in the army
@fathead89332 жыл бұрын
@@bigc2347 this does nothing. It’s the same as wearing battle rattle to practice marksmanship. Everything is taken completely out of the context in which it was learned. You also don’t have these NCOs being forced to perform the same tasks in front of their subordinates. This was nothing more than “we’re looking like hard asses because we’re 22 years old and we have to know more than this 21 year old”. I’ve played the game on both sides. Notice that this was all Joe’s shooting and no NCOs? Last I checked, the Team Leader leads from the front. This is a very toxic leadership display and should be used as an example of how not to treat your subordinates. We had stress shoots in my generation also. We threw on a ridiculously overweight ruck and road Marched to the range, directly on to the line, to qualify. You see we actually simulated the fatigue of combat. We walked for long periods of time with heavy stuff on our back then we shot. I’ve been down range and no one has ever jumped out from around a corner and made me do push ups and degraded me. I did however have to carry heavy stuff on my back for long periods of time to have that briefly interrupted by gunfire. So this is just hazing for no other purpose than self gratification.

@@fathead8933 I keep telling people real officers & nco lead from the front & not make you do shit they wouldn’t do themselves.
@fathead89332 жыл бұрын
@@jeremiahfleming5144 that's impossible. Disrespect of an NCO by lower enlisted is a punishable offense, and this drill requires you degrade the shooters for attention. Look I've lived the 11B life and I understand the pissed off NCO. The problem with stuff like this is it has no bearing to the actual job. You raised your heart rate. There is no adrenaline. Adrenaline requires some sort of fear. If you guys are scared of doing the thing you probably do 200 times a day, ie push-ups, you need to reconsider the job. I know there was no adrenaline dump. Raising the adrenaline would call for cold heartedness that most of even the hard NCOs don't have the taste for ie make this shot or your back to the line, stuck out here until you do, etc. I'm not smashing on your guys. This is an Army wide problem.
@bommie3 жыл бұрын
For everyone who's not really familiar with the army/military, this is called a stress shoot. Your NCOs (sergeants) smoke the dogshit out of you to get your heart rate up and your lungs breathless, then you're to shoot at targets with your heart slamming against your rib cage. Get smoked some more and do it again. It might not look like a big deal but don't forget, they're doing this in full rattle. IOTV body armor with front, back, and side plates. That's a good 25-20lbs of extra weight on your body. You're also carrying a 7-lb M4 at all times (with a PEQ-15 and optic so it's closer to 10lbs), and not to mention an ACH on your head which isn't heavy normally but will tire your neck out when you're exerting this much. As a current infantryman, I cannot say enough how much I hate stress shoots.

Back when I was Infantry I was a true bad ass. I was tabbed with a CQRANGER tab. When i went through Airborne school I made all my jumps from the C130 with my CQ desk strapped to my waist. Even answered a few calls on the way down. When I went through Ranger school I carried my CQ desk in my ruck sack, and even set up my office out in the wood line to sign in a few visitors. Then it became time for me to start triple tabbing, which I had to get the S long tab to better myself as a soldier. When I got my long tab SHAMMER, I was so happy and filled with pride. I became the ultimate SHAMMER. Some even said I became invisible until final formation. 😂😂😂 I came from the shadows, therefore I am a shadow warrior.

I remember in basic training someone actually said: Infantry is the most wonderfull thing in the marine core. So we all joined. Never experienced such a wonderfull lie.
@yaboiz19535 жыл бұрын
When I was younger I thought being infantry meant doing all this stuff doesn’t hurt. Now that I’m older I’ve realized that it hurts. And you just gotta deal with it. Football built my mental toughness. I went to relaxin Jackson. It was basically summer camp compared to football. Now I’m in college rotc working to my dream of being an infantry officer. That’s all I want out of life. To lead men into battle.

I was in the danish marines bootcamp, and we also had these stress tests. The Sergeants are doing as they should, shouting commands and pushing the soldiers. As you can clearly hear, the cameraman, most likely leadership as well, offers a friendly form for encouragement as well, to both increase the general attitude towards the assignment, but also to help those soldiers who are falling behind and are pushing their limits to the max.

@blzahz76335 жыл бұрын
@A one legged manYes, the body makes you breathe through the mouth because it requires more oxygen than what can be delivered through your nostrils. Forcing breath through the nostrils will make your body "think" that something is blocking the oral pathway, and then the body tries to clear it by vomiting. This is very common cause of death in kidnappings: when the mouth is covered with tape and the victims starts hyperventilating due to stress and panic, the body tries to clear the pathway. Since the mouth is covered with tape and the expulsion has nowhere to go, the victim drowns in their own vomit.

Been there, done that. Having a beer on the back porch watching these young boys become men brings a smile to my face. The suck is real. And it builds you. Totally understand there is a clear delineation between smoke session and live. However, during the smoke session seeing those muzzles pointed at your battle buddy just makes me cringe. That’s my 2 cents to the AAR. But kudos for smoking them before shooting. Few units do that. And as witnessed by fogged up eye pro, elevated heart rates, and general confusion.... it makes a difference. Well done. “Keep up the Fire.”
@rommelvaldez99095 жыл бұрын
I serve as a infantrymen for 11 years, when it come to marksmanship you have to train them properly not yapping your mouth, its a qualification paper target. Not a stress shoot. There's time and place to apply corrective action. This the reason why all the good leaders left the Army. And the reason why soldiers don't have any respect on there leadership. Leaders is a mentor you training soldiers to become the feature leaders, as a leader what ever you do to your team, squad will reflect on you as a leader. Set them for success.
