NHS Blood and Transplant’s chief medical officer Dr Gail Miflin apologises for the role the service played in the Infected Blood Scandal.
Officials are preparing to release the final report of the Infected Blood Inquiry.
Statisticians have estimated that around 27,000 people were infected with contaminated blood as a result of blood transfusions.

I appreciate Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's apology for the infected blood scandal. Sidney Sheldon's great novel "Bloodline" explains the pros and cons of blood very well and infected blood has its own devastating consequences because RNA and DNA are hereditary.
