Same, the bubble wrap slug can be somewhat laughable and some of the costumes ages badly but some bits hold up really well, some of the shots of Noah becoming a Wirrn are great and every scene of the green monster instead the power system are so awesome to this day, absolutely terrifying. The scene where it’s big eye looks at the doctor especially.

The Ark In Space was the first Doctor Who series I watched as a nine year old child. I watched it on a 13” black and white TV in my patents basement and it scared me ferociously! But I was hooked and been a fan ever since! Good memories…

The special effects may have been a bit dodgy but the storytelling was good and the actors knew how to make the material seem real.

BEST DOCTOR EVER! And this is coming from someone who grew up with stories of Doctor Who and nothing more until 2009. Love the new blood, and out of them Peter is my fav, but NONE of them have yet to hold a candle to Tom Baker's Doctor. Sorry about the obvious typecast you've lived with, Mr. Baker, but you have left one HELL of an amazing legacy in the hearts and minds of Whovian's everywhere! Bless you!!!

Season 12 just oozes charm. I don’t know what it is but even the way it looks is just so nice. This story in particular, even watching it in HD on the remastered Blu ray feels like being a kid watching an old VHS. And that’s not nostalgia talking because I never watched Classic Who as a kid.

Series 12 is arguably Tom Baker’s best stint, as well as his first. I find Series 13 too dark, and there isn’t enough for me in Series 14, though I do like The Masque of Mandragora. Simply put, 12 represents the golden era for Tom Baker’s Who for me.

Italian television did only broadcast a bunch of episodes of Doctor Who during the 70s. Just one season. This one episode was enough for me to fall in love with the Doctor. Then I had to wait until 2005 to see him again!!!

Not immediately. Before we had The Sontaran Experiment and Genesis of the Daleks. The latter never aired in Italy. Only After that we had Revenge of the Cybermen, set in the same space station.

Noah warned the Doctor to stop or he was going to atomize him, then, when Noah did shoot, the Doctor was only stunned. Afterwards, the Doctor even referred to it as a stun gun. How did nobody notice that script inconsistency before filming? 😃
@ReddwarfIV
@ReddwarfIV 2 жыл бұрын
The Doctor stopped messing with the controls, so Noah stunned him instead of atomising him.
@MightyJonE
@MightyJonE 2 жыл бұрын
@@ReddwarfIV hmm, you’re looking for a rationale there that wasn’t explained or implied, unless you’re imposing a rationale from a completely different futuristic show - 60s Star Trek, where their phasers can stun or kill. The doctor called it a stun gun, yet the original threat using same gun was to be atomised. Without explanation within the script he was shot, yet survived, then called it a stun gun. For clarity, it makes better sense that the threat should’ve been something like, “I’m not unreasonable - step away from the controls and I’ll merely stun you; ignore me and I’ll atomise you. Your choice, Doctor”
