I started smiling right away when you said, "can't wait to talk about it." (Being woohyun fan means we lose more than one braincell because we can't figure out things to not like about him) I wish he can come back soon and we can have all the Infinite together on stage

I don't know much about techniques but yeah infinite has a power vocal with woohyun and sunggyu and I personally love woohyun voice the most I feel like there is no weakness in his voice he can sing everything so beautifulluly his voice like magic, it feels like he is a genius with vocal techniques and I remember the guests of immortal songs said that he is very good with the vocal techinques when he sag last promise. And I love when he sings with low voice, normal and high note,Not to mention when he sings without music it's just a kill for me. Ok now I will stop talking about him because if I continue I will write many pages and it won't be enough. I'm not vocal expert, just a music lover and I've never been so nervous about who you're putting as #1 as Infinite is one of the most underrated groups ever. I thought you will put Sunggyu as #1 but I think you and I have the same taste (though I'm not as technical as you, I just love voices that have that nice baritone and absolutely cannot stand overly done nasal techniques). I love it that you in the end put Woohyun as #1 and describe his voice as insane which I absolutely agree! Previously when you analyzed Super Junior I was not as nervous as I'm fine to whoever you put as #1 because to me KRY is the best vocal unit and obviously they are in top 3. Suffice to say I was ECSTATIC when you put Kyuhyun as #1 because he's my absolute favourite and now Woohyun, who is also my fave in Infinite! Thanks for covering them in your videos!

Thank you for making a video about Infinite... They are not underrated, but it is so hard to find things about them nowadays because basically all the group is in the army. I also feel bad coz I just knew about them lately and couldn't enjoy those Kings of lives and classy and fancy performances nicely. I believe that L, as Shinee's Taemin, is one of the rare cases of great improvements in kpop. He started for basically tone deaf to a great and unique vocalist. Also an amazing actor. Sunggyu is, in my opinion, a very strong and consistent vocalist. I don't know much about vocal technique, but it seems he makes a lot of choices during his performances to be able to stand out all songs without being out of breath. He is the one with the most lines in Infinite songs, not that easy lines and as they never lip sync, I imagine that sometimes just good technique is not enough (maybe I'm saying a totally bs though). I believe there's no one compared to Leader Gyu in kpop. And our Namu... He is amazing in Infinite but I feel that people don't praise him enough as solo artist. He is such a great ballad singer. His voice is one of my favorites ever. Very manly, powerful and comfort to be listen for a long, long time. If you don't know Infinite, just go check those amazing, incredible and mind blowing performances of them. They are a very complete group in each category and also kings of high class stages (is there anything compared to that The Chaser Orchestra performance???) . Check out their babies Golden Child too coz they are following the same path of their sunbaes 😊.

Thank you for the analysis Sam! I love Infinite so much, to me they have the best discography in kpop and there's not a single title track of theirs that isn't top-notch. They're also one of the few kpop acts with a consistent sound, with an actual identity, and I love their style so much. About their voices, I love how distinct they are, they have such a big variety in voice tones even though they're all tenors, and, as I said previously, Woohyun has the most amazing tone in kpop to me. It's full and warm and robust and so unique, I've never heard a voice similar to his. His lack of nasality is also an interesting thing I noticed and I wonder if he was ever classically trained (my teacher will bonk me in the head if I ever display the tiniest bit of nasality) and it kinda goes against the trend in kpop, I think? Anyways, thank you for the video! INFINITE will be celebrating their 10th Year Anniversary on June 9 💛 ~ thank you for this! This vid is also quite a way of going down the memory lane with their performances. What really baffles me is that their VOCALS has its own COLOR, and yet they HARMONIZE it well. +They still in SYNC in DANCING and performs LIVE. Like how, right?!! I can not tell you the intensity of feelings I got from this video. Infinite is my favorite group and whenever I see a video of them nowadays that's it's not by an inspirit I get giddy. First of all, wonderful research! I can tell you researched a lot for this, as I can tell that the clips you used as examples aren't the most common ones, and infinite's improvement as vocalists is visible mostly in these video's that are not mainstream. I loved the analysis of Myungsoo's voice, he is indeed an incredibly hard worker! There were times in 2012 when he would be labeled as "extremely handsome, but can't sing". Although that statement, in my opinion, is really too much (he was on ok vocalist and definitely not the worst), I acknowledge that he had a lot to work on. And it is insane how much he improved to the point that he got to be the best voice after the main vocalists. It's just in his personality to be perseverent, his acting also improved a lot! Loved that you included Hoya, as you said, he was a pillar of this group and their legacy is what it is because of his contribution as a singer and dancer. I completely agree with the analysis for Dongwoo, his voice is literally his personality. He gets sometimes shaky but his voice is so powerful and beautiful. It's amazing for a main rapper, but then all members were trained to sing decently firstly. Sungyeol was pretty much spot on. He improved too, but he still gets the least parts in songs, and I don't mean it as a bitter statement of "give my man more lines!". I think Sungyeol's priority was always to be a decent singer (he has a great pitch actually) and reliable member (for his voice not to break, to be able to sing live and in case they need him to cover parts and stuff) but he doesn't particularly aim to excel, as his passion is instead acting. He was training for that actually. He is actually on his second musical now in the army, I am starting to think he is getting more confidence in his singing. I loved the ranking and I would arrange it the same. Sunggyu is my favorite member and his voice is my favorite in the group, but I agree that objectively Woohyun has more technical skills. And their voices together are just iconic?? I think it was said before that while Woohyun's voice is hot chocolate in a cold day, Sunggyu's is ice cream during a hot summer. Or that Woohyun is like a starry night sky and Sunggyu a burning sunray. I am glad you came to like them! I would love to know what your favorite infinite songs are, if you have any.

So many thoughts...our rank is exactly the same (but seeing your appreciation for Sooyoung from Girls Generation and Rocky from Astro I figured we’d be similar!) Firstly thank you for including Hoya, he was there for 90% of their history and will always be a member to me. I also appreciate the acknowledgment of Myungsoo’s improvement (yes he is my bias.) Finally your love of both Sungkyu and Woohyun’s voice. Now justice for EXID, Hani in particular (her voice is naturally jazzier and more blues (her solo songs and covers show this) but she still did her beast to stay higher to match Solji (it’s a race between her and Taeyeon as to who has my favorite female voice) and Hyerin (who was treated horribly by fans in the beginning but pulled an L and really took the lead when Solji got sick and had to take over all those high notes!)

Ahh I've been requesting Infinite a bunch and I'm so happy you did them!!! I love the Woolim family. Though a bit old fashioned all their groups do a good job performing live. The junior group Golden Child just had a live concert recently where they performed before a live band not backing tracks for the music or the vocals. I've always felt like a stick in the mud for this opinion, but even with Infinite being one of my all time favorite K-pop groups, I've never been fully sold on Sunggyu's vocal tone. Something about it is just...too nasal and whiny for me, especially when he goes from his lower range to his mix. He sounded awesome in that Time Walking Through Memories cover though, and I can't deny that he's improved a lot on these issues since debut. It's just kind of unfortunate because everybody else seems to love it so much. :( I LOVE Dongwoo to death and I've listened to his Masked Singer performance on repeat a million times and will continue to do so but yeah he's not the strongest singer technically. (His dancing though :^)). It was very interesting that you mentioned that his manner of speaking/personality is reflected in the way he sings; I never thought about that before. In my favourite voice ranking, Dongwoo is ranking 3rd in infinite. His singing techniques is really good and when he change tone is sometime make me cry when it is a sad song.

I knew that sungyeol was going to be last, it always hurts since he is my bias lol 😂 but I think its because his lines that woollim gives him are so basic and don't show off anything. Plus due to his less lines I'm sure his confidence in his vocals took a hit. But I love his light tone and sound of his voice and I'll always think his voice is beautiful lol Edit- wow its true what you said about myungsoo because when I listen to last romeo and destiny, some lines I cant tell the difference between his and sunggyu's voice. Also I cant decide for #1. I think sunggyu is so confident and amazing at singing with his unique tone, but woohyun has such a nice deeper tone. Idk who to pick lol

I think there is something that is not considered when analyzing Myungsoo's voice, and that's that when he debuted he was only 18 years old, and unlike Sungyeol and Sungyeol; Myungsoo had a change in his voice when he went from adolescence to adulthood. His voice became more manly when singing and this change can be noticed little by little since 2014 in the song Last Romeo; Myungsoo's voice finished maturing in 2016, which is where most people notice the change in Myungsoo's voice. But yes, Myungsoo has the most manly voice now, and a thicker and lower tone and his high notes are wonderful. He is lead vocal, and I hope in future INFINITE comebacks Sunggyu and Woohyun will give Myungsoo some more lines to sing, please.

Yeah no doubt to be woohyun at #1 since infinite could be ol like a main vocal but still woohyun attacked and technique in singing is really amazing something like he can play.with his voice and balance of hitting high notes is like heaven u know and when sunggyu join him its really.amzing indeed

Personally, I LOVE Sunggyu's voice, imo it gives Infinite a special color to it that just completes Infinite's sound when you combine it with everyone. But I love everyone too and all their voices just have their own color they bring to Infinite's sound

Woollim never disappoints when it comes to vocals. Can you also do Lovelyz? They're really good at a capella. Probably one of the best vocally gg along with mamamoo, spica, kiss&cry, despite of having 8 members they are vocally skilled. If you want hear more them singing just watch their some covers, 'king of masked singer' performances, concert performances (they always do LIVE) and their b-side tracks shown more their angelic crystal vocals.
