Ariel - The G37 was heavily modded. And that IS350 sounds stock. In reality both being stock for stock the IS350 would stay ahead even in the triple digits unless the G37 is 6MT.

noobz you must not know about the g37, 6 speed auto is the slowest, 6mt is in the middle and the 8 speed automatic is the fastest especially in the Triple digits since it has 8 gears

moises cristobal There is no 8 speed. I own a G37 7AT sedan and can confirm it is the lightest and quickest of the G's (aside from the IPL). Also I walk on IS350's regularly.

I have a 09 is 250. Modified. I dog chargers and mustangs any day. If you leave the paddles alone. You fly. My car does 0 to 60 in like really 2. Something seconds. I’m at 100 in the beginning of 3rd gear. Teslas have a hard time with me

I walk on IS350's on a regular basis in my stock G37 sedan 7AT. Even in non sport mode...

I cant find a single auto test where the is350 is the same with the g37. The g37 is always the quicker and faster of the two.

Dude in a 3point8 - I've been debating getting a 335i 4 door but I am going to go with a 2009 is350 instead. The 335i is going to be sportier off the bat, but I can easily fix that by adding a good suspension to the lexus. I want a 335i so bad but I have a job I drive 50miles both ways and a family. I just dont have time to have my car not start in the morning because some fucking cheap hose is cracked or something stupid. Am goin with is350 for power and reliability. Once i add a good set of coilovers, then it will feel really sporty like the 335i.

Awesome, but someone who buys a Lexus is more than likely after reliability, yes I know, the VQ engine is considered reliable too but I doubt it would stand a chance to the Lexus. Either way, both are great cars and probably can't go wrong with either. Me personally I'm a Yota fanboy so I'm going with the Lexus.

Stock whp 335i is making 275, while the G is making 286. Turbos and 0-60 along with weight are big factors. From a dig the G is losing, but from 60-80 the G is walking the 335 bc of the better top end speed

The lexus has the better bottom end, with shorter gearing so it takes off faster. while the G has the better top end. The Is350s are deadly anywhere from 0-~80-90. But with it's gearing it looses it's edge after that..

Toyota system when it hits the rev limiter is much more forgiving than others. power comes back instantly even if you hit the redline making it not much slower but if you hit the rev limiter in the g37 it slows you down much more

InnerGuide I know im replying to a 2yr old comment but I own a 08 g37s coupe and have had it since 66k miles. Currently has 184k on the clock and havnt done anything but oil changes coolant flushes tire changes and a couple of coolant hoses.... its a hell of a reliable car.

You have no clue what you're talking about. That's an is350, not a base 250. And the lexus is stronger on the low end, but the G has more power and more top end. 0-120 and 1/4 on both cars is almost identical.

Coupe G37 also weighs MORE than the sedan. That's well-known. And the 2006-2007 is350 is faster than the 2011-2013 ones due to weight. So like I said, you're clueless.

I've found that is 350 will hang with most V8's.

A G37 weighs more, and has less torque despite more HP. I still have a 350 on top there, just because I've been there. maybe some scenarios where the 37 is the better, I've never seen that to be true myself though.

If the G37 was in a high gear and not in power band, even a 2.5 V6 would pull at first until. thus is why the G37 pulled away slowly then by a landslide. I'll see if I can find a link to send on the body style difference. a 350 wouldn't have let up. also, a 5 or 6 speed is going to "pull" harder on downshift due to the gear ratio vs. a 7.

+brandon velez I have raced a g37 and won. My friend has one and sold it and when he had the g37 he liked my 350 better. He sold it for a BMW 535i twin turbo. And he doesn't miss it the Infiniti. I race him in my 350 with his bimmer and he won once and I won once. I have also driven in the G37 the Lexus has a better interior the infiniti has a ton of hard plastic and the IS350 seat are much better quality then in the Infiniti.
