Jarvis makes a sarcastic remark about traveling to other planets, Tony Stark does the Heroic Version of what probably went down the first time Thanos tried to justify his actions, Coulson alludes to his first rodeo with Carol Danvers in the Kree-Skrull war,
and Fury remarks on Tony Stark being a Superhero along with Captain Marvel and Captain America.

You should've included when Yensin died and told Tony "Don't waste your life." He obviously didn't know that Tony would go on to fight for the fate of the universe, but the line gives me chills now when I think about how many lives Tony has saved since escaping that cave.

That line when Tony Stark explains that there is a reason for him being alive really gave us a good foreshadowing to "Avengers: Infinity War".

Kush Garg I own the movie novelization. The best part? The whole "I shouldn't be alive unless it was for a reason. I'm not crazy, pepper," line wasn't even in the novelization, nor was JARVIS' sarcastic remark about visiting other planets. This means that these were later additions, and in my opinion, were for the best.

This isn't necessarily foreshadowing. Remember, Marvel Studios had recently gone bankrupt and sold the rights for Spiderman and the X-Men just to keep from sinking. At this time, the Avengers were considered the off-brand Justice League and not really viable for a film. Ironman was a risky gamble that, thanks to great choices in direction, acting, and writing, paid off in a big way.

ᗰ except the line in the novelization is simply "The suit isn't rated for high altitude. You're experiencing eight-percent power just heating and pressurizing", not to mention that there is very obviously a sarcastic tone to Jarvis' reply. Awais Ahmed Well I see you have a great habit of assuming what kind of media other people consume. Well some good character arcs can be found in Blade Runner, Blade Runner 2049, Nightcrawler, True Detective, Ghost in the shell(1995 animated movie), Ex Machina, Whiplash etc.
@awaisahmed7568
@awaisahmed7568 5 жыл бұрын
Sudha Kumari okay I agree. But you have to look at it with a different perspective. All these characters you mentioned they were developed over the course of one movie which is a great accomplishment in its own rite but this character was introduced to the world of cinema 10 years ago and became basically the godfather of the history's biggest movie franchise. And the way they developed this character and the kind of changes, ups and downs it went through is just amazing. Not to mention how RDJ breathed life into this character.
@yorha9949
@yorha9949 5 жыл бұрын
Awais Ahmed Well The Godfather series has better character arcs, The Dark Knight movies have great character arcs. I don't disagree that his developed is good(Ummm decent is a better word). His emotions switch a lot, his development is not done in a stream but in a lot of falls. Each movie he has a small amount of screen time where he experiences something and then that is resolved in a very short time frame. RDJ did a good job but the writing could have been better if it was pre-planned. Same goes with Thanos, they tried to make a Villain good by giving him all the screen time in one movie. Thanos could have been developed in a brilliant fashion over the 18 movies in the marvel catalogue but all he got is one movie. I see those things more easily because how much I read and how big of an asshole elitist I am(I am quite open about it ^-^). I still think the directors and producers don't use this platform well. Movies, Games and Book being the 3 major source of media consumption and existing for a long time(well gaming is quite young) is still not used well by people. Marvel make enjoyable movies, but they are far from something I would call a masterpiece (no such thing exists for me). And the movies I told you about are not even that great except Blade Runner & 2049.

Miguel Gonzalez Completely false. They went bankrupt in the 90s. Before making Iron Man, they set up a seven-year deal with the bank Merryl Lynch where they agreed to sell off the filmmaking rights to their remaining roster of characters if their film division didn’t pay off. Iron Man was a phenomenal success that propelled them forward for their next several films.

A lot of people forget that iron man was supposed to be a one and done movie by marvel, sure they probably had a bigger vision like every other studio, but they never imagined it would take off the way it did. This movie was so successful that it was playing in movie theaters for months and months and it was going up against "The Dark Knight" one of DCs biggest properties at the time. Love the video! It makes the Lore of the MCU that much richer, but let's not forget that even while we had big strong movie franchises in theaters at the time, maybe all we needed was a little guy

The Doctor No. That was in reference to the Iron Man movie, not Infinity War. When Tony is caught in the attack at the beginning of the film, he is shocked to realize that his weapons are being used to kill young American soldiers, which is an explicit talking point in Iron Man. When he lives through the shrapnel, he sees the world as it really is. I'm sorry, but you'd have to be a fucking idiot to think that a movie released ten years ago had exact foreshadowing to a specific plot point in infinity war.

It's crazy how time flies. Really puts things in perspective. In these ten years, I met the love of my life, started a family, and advanced my education by entering medical school. Though to me they initially they seemed like mere adaptations of dear comic book characters, it now feels like these movies have taken a life of their own. They are their own thing. I'm glad to have grown with them and I look forward to what the future of the MCU holds.

Civil War is recent enough for that to be the case as they have been planning ahead for a few years now. Iron Man 1 however could only hope to foreshadow the first Avengers movie because of how risky it was to make this film.

Don't pretend that they foreshadowed Infinity War in Iron Man. Iron Man was released ten years before Infinity War. It was the first movie in the MCU, and it acted as an experiment to see how people liked it. Iron Man was a HUGE gamble, since he was a relatively unknown hero. They had no plans for Infinity War in 2008.

It foreshadows that there were superheroes before Ironman and Nick fury knew about them. He says that by tony introducing himself as Ironman he got himself into that league of superheroes which were not introduced in the Ironman part 1. It foreshadowed that Nick fury knew someone else. XOMIAK yes because movies that mention "does your father have a penis?". Or "Saying a person had an orgy on a ship." Is 13+. Also why is 13+ a bad thing. High rating doesn't make a movie great. The quality of the film does. Why is the Toy Story considered one of the best trilogies ever when its pg. Because of the quality of the film.

I think part of what made Iron man so good was it was the first film. Not only of the Iron man films but of the entire MCU. It didn't come after anything better, and it wasn't intending to start something much bigger after it. The end credit scene was more fan service than it was teasing the MCU at the time. Iron man was trying to be a movie, not spawn the many sequels and tie ins that it did, it was focused on itself rather than what comes next. Not that the other films are bad but I think that's why it was so good

It is crazy…they set up Endgame all the way back in Ironman. It was so emotional to watch Potts say she wouldn’t help him kill himself, then to see he give him the ok once he figured out time travel which set his ending in motion… And then for him to say that he is alive for a reason.
