You didn't mention the situation in elderly people where DNA "blurring" in both organs and the immune system result in the immune system rejecting and attacking an organ - and kidneys are usually the first to be attacked, probably due to accumulated toxins. I have a likely 83-year-old patient right now, whose creatinine and uric acid levels have been deteriorating to eGFR=41% while her inflammatory indicators have been increasing during recent months, all with NO protein in the urine. This seems to be the same process as transplant rejection, and indeed in a way the kidney is not the patient's original kidney - because it has changed through 83 years of DNA damage and aging. I am considering rapamycin for this. Any thoughts?
