All new Saturn boats since July 2021, except smaller Kaboats and kayaks, now comes with heat welded seams and fiberglass covered transom. It is impossible to heat weld smaller 12" diameter kayaks and Kaboats, because heat inducing roller need to be able to go through end of tube. Saturn boats also use German Heytex PVC fabric. Even that most boats now produced with heat welding, transom has to be glued. It can't be welded. Bond between PVC and fiberglass much stronger than between PVC and wood. Saturn makes boats since 1999, and constantly works on improvements. Thank you.

I do trust Saturn new boats. I bought one a couple years ago. It was a glue welded version. It did not last long because I live in Kuwait. Kuwait is an extremely hot country in summer. The boat fell apart as the seams started to leak due to the weather. However, with the new Saturn versions, I do believe that the boat will last longer and will stand the extreme hot weather in Kuwait. I still do trust Saturn, and for sure I will order the Triton version soon. Good job Saturn! Hope you keep developing your work. Thank you!

I used to be a plumber. I can confirm gluing PVC to fiberglass is very strong, and stands up high heat.

I've had 2 Zodiac hypalon rafts, the 10 and the large black military model. Those are the best but even they leak eventually! They'll all leak if you don't really take good care of them, and even then, over time, there are points that may crease and leak, but so long as they're heat welded- you can trust that's the best you can get. The pvc , to be honest, will puncture a lot easier than hyaplon, but if you're worried about puncture spots, just buy a 5' x12" roll (appx) of hypalon material like I did and use that for repairs where you might drag botttom, or where a crease puts a leak on the boat. The edges should be feathered with a file or small grinder on the edge of plywood to kill that catchy edge, and I suggest using a heat lamp to cure the glue instead of a heat gun since it'll give more heat and even heat, especially if you want to do a large patch. Little pieces of gravel/rock get into the inflatable keels and will wear little pinholes. On that it's sometimes best not to patch but to use "Dupli-color" vinyl-fabric specialty coating on top of some rubber glue(cure the glue first) without air in it and cure this for 12hrs under a heat lamp using a laser temp gun to check for hot spots if you can, or just have a tiny fan to keep a bit of airflow going. Dremel tools has a diamond disc that's ideal for feathering edges of patch material with minimal mess. I suggest using diver's talc under the floor to keep friction at a minimum, since the motor and water will cause vibration friction. It may only stay dry up front but hey it's either that or electric grease that's just messy.

@mikefromspace Appreciate you stopping by and commenting.. As I said in my previous video. I had one with the speed tubes, and the speed tubes constantly leaked.. When talking to Zodiac, they said that this is standard and there's nothing they are going to do about it. Though I think Zodiac makes a good boat. For the cost and the price, Not exactly the answer you would expect from them. But people can like what they like. as long as you're out on the water, it doesn't matter

I have a BRIS 9.8 with heat welded seams that I've owned a couple years now. I initially had an issue with the inflatable floor. It would lose air very slowly over a couple weeks time. I was finally able to locate the leak, as it was quite small, and only leaked when it was up to it's rated pressure. I emailed the company and got an immediate response. I sent them a video of the leak, and they told me they would replace the floor free of charge - however, it would take several months to get the floor from China, so they advised me to repair the floor while waiting for the replacement. I was able to get the leak fixed, and I assumed I was never going to see the replacement floor anyway. About 5 months later, UPS dropped off a box at my house... it was he replacement air floor! So from my experience with BRIS, I'm quite impressed with the company! I see they have a catamaran now, which is very tempting to me...

GREAT VIDEO- I LOVE IT WHEN PEOPLE TELL IT STRAIGHT! Here's my 2 cents- When it comes to an inflatable boat you also have to take climate into consideration. I live in Montana and have been running the same Mariner 4 now for like 5 years with minimal issues. I have had to patch a few small holes and leaks over the years, and Im not surprised because I built a wood frame with wood bench seats in it. I have without question gotten my money out of it at this point (300 Boat Skin). I think it's lasted as long as it has because I take care of it... and it's never really in extreme climate either way, summers are mild, and it lives inside in winter. I am in the market for a really sturdy long lasting inflatable right now in a much larger size (14+ feet) that will easily handle a 25 hp outboard and two power downriggers. I probably do more research than anyone before buying anything. Of course budget is always the main deal for the average guy, so Im looking at boats in a certain price range. (2,000 - 3,500) I have even reached out to Alibaba wholesalers about boats that won't even hit US shores... After about a month of digging around I have been most impressed with Stryker, Swellfish, and Seamax. All Canadian Made boats, customer service get's back to right away, reasonable shipping, quality products. The reason I'm looking toward boats that come from Canada is they deal with a similar climate as me, and use their boats in the same way I would use mine. On this purchase I am spending a considerable amount of money on a boat, so I want to make damn sure Im buying something that's going to last, I encourage everyone to do the same. The things I'm looking for are the aluminum transoms, both Stryker and Swellfish have Aluminum transoms, and heat welded seams (German PVC) That's a big plus for me. Swellfish makes downrigger mounts that affix right to the raft sides... big plus, they are heavy duty too, made of metal. Do your homework though... If you don't you will probably wind up buying a well marketed piece of shit. Even the Seamax boats that you can buy on Amazon look halfway decent, I'm going to be looking into these boats this week for kicks. Carry on-

I personally own the Saturn FCB290 9 ft 6 in inflatable and have no complaints about it whatsoever. The FCB290 is a step up model ruggedized for fishing, and includes fishing rod holders and some other accessories their base 9 ft 6 in model doesn't have. I've run it over rocks, crashed into logs sticking out of rivers, you name it, it's held up extremely well, no punctures. I can't speak for how this boat would hold up with some sort of 25hp outboard motor on it (it's only rated for 8HP, which limits you mainly to smaller 2-stroke o/b motors), as I only use an electric trolling motor on the back for fishing small lakes, creeks, and rivers. I bought the boat in early 2022...everything was heat welded, and the PVC is tough as nails. There's nothing I would change on this boat, other than making it roomier as it's a bit tight when I take my 2 sons fishing on it! I love it...can set it up and deflate it in under 20 minutes, it's fun and I can take it anywhere as it fits in the back of my truck with plenty of room for whatever else I want to bring on a camping or fishing trip. Know what you're buying...these boats are not sea-worthy, nor are they meant to substitute for a full-blown fiberglass center console fishing boat.

I have several Bris boats that I modify for river use. My first one was a 14.1 foot that I put a rowing frame on. I was worried about rowing the boat backwards with the transom plowing in the water but that turned out to be a non issue. It rows backwards as well as forwards(7' oars). The 14 spins well so is manoeuverable on the river but is only good as a 2 man boat. The 15.4 works well as a 3 man boat but doesn't spin as well so you have to be careful in class 3 water. Even though these are bucket boats they have 17" tubes with a good bow and can handle some narly water. You better be good with the sticks, otherwise, stay in class 2 or calmer. My first boat was partly glued but now they are all welded. I use a 6hp to go upsteam on some rivers. The boat will plane with 2 people. Usually I just float rivers without a motor. The best thing about these boats is how they go through skinny water. You can float trough low water when other boats can't. My hero is Hannu for those of you in the know.

Move gas tank to the front of the boat And try to get more weight to the front of the boat. See if that will pop you up on a plain. Normally a 15 can plain, You may have the wrong pitch prop. You may have to go to a 9 pitch to dig harder out of the hole

The Mirovia Pro is made by bestway. The same bestway that make the cheap air mattresses. I don't know much about them. But I do know 2 people that did have them and had a bunch of problems with them. However I do know a few that say they're good. What I do know about them is they don't use as thick of material as some of the better brands. The problem with going cheap on a inflatable boat is think about where you will be if it does fail. It would just most likely be better to go to a place like boats to go.com that makes Saturn and pick yourself up one with a good warranty.. Just my 2 cents Thank you for watching and commenting🇺🇲🤠
