Err there's a lot of talk about Ghost in the Shell. At least on KZfaq, couldn't care less what's on the TV and "popular view". But really, this is less to do with the author of GITS, Shirow Masamune and more to do with the director of the movie, Mamoru Oshii. The Original Manga is just... Okay but it's very disjointed, contrast to the 1995 movie which is philosophical and thought provoking, lingering on scenes which is very on-key for Oshii's direction. What I am saying is that if you like Ghost in the Shell, you should watch GITS 2 Innocence, and then Patlabor the Movie 2 which is superb as well

@@beyondthegravebrandon there is basically no conflict or overarching plot that pushes our characters to develop. It kinda feels like 3 filler episodes of an anime strung together. We fight a bad guy, we talk about souls and robots, over half the movie passes, oh no, big baddie is introduced and is on the run, caught him, there is a tank? Sacrifice, dude with goofy eyes shoots a rocket, souls and robots philosophy, the end. There was no overarching plot that brought the characters from the beginning of the story to the end, there was no journey, only a straight line with a few bumps, they basically just did their job and that's it. Nothing interesting happened.
@beyondthegravebrandon
@beyondthegravebrandon 2 ай бұрын
@@Narko_Marko Cause it was never meant to be an entertaining movie with a moving plot, Check the genre, there is no adventure written there, It has psychological tag there, It's mostly about the personal conflict of Motoko trying to grapple her identity meanwhile questioning her own existence, it's not some shonen or some dramatic series where the main character will just make the whole finding her identity thing as a plot point, She is a cyborg who doesn't know about her past, But is reminded about it everyday while doing her investigations like that guy whose ghost was altered into thinking that he has a wife and a child, She thinks about how she is also being used as a tool for the section 9 police department but she cannot do anything about it, Project 2501 is that plot device who finds the potential in Motoko inorder to take over the cybernet, She is one of the few people who was chosen by the heavens, Basically she becomes a goddess/sentient being at the end and through internet she can search about her past and her means of existence, So it was a fair deal for both to coexist together, I wonder did u even watch the movie at all or were u closing ur eyes while watching, well whatever it's your opinion and I have no problem, But the flaws that u pointed out weren't the flaws, It's actually not meant to be watched like Princess Mononoke or any other movie that follows one overarching plot or theme, It leaves upto speculations and symbolisms. It's not something you can find enjoyment out of. Here I will give u the alternatives as u seem to be the type of guy who turns off the brain and watch, Try Trigun, cowboy Bebop or Cowboy Bebop, they are amazing with good plot and are ENJOYABLE or you can try Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex which has an overarching plot and is easily digestible for casual watchers, But i think u still won't be able to calculate this too
