Not just in the business but in real world too.. We all know abt men if they cheat they usually do it with a younger woman. Like Megan Fox.. Yeah she's super cringy acting like a horny 15 year old nowadays.. Constantly sticking her tongue out. But I see even comments from girls in their 20s say "go home to your kids".. And " Why is she acting like she's young?" She's 35..since when is that old? And why do women have to be reminded that they have kids and have to be with them 24/7?? Why is that even brought up? It's the same old perception of women that you're a good n respectable one if you're at home with kids n cooking.. Otherwise you're a "hoe"... If men do the same thing then that's looked away.. I haven't seen anyone tell mgk or Travis Barker to " Go home to your kids" Shit.. Remember: there's more derogatory words against women's character/appearance than it is abt men

The thing I liked about Madonna was her individuality but she now looks like a CGI character with that continual filter on her photos. And Nene Leakes, why? She’s a very pretty lady & I can’t for the life of me understand why she’d engage in this nonsense. 🛑 I refuse to use filters; they make one look ridiculous.

She looked her oldest during the drowned world tour in 2001 then she appeared noticeably different at the 2003 Grammy awards. She was 44. At 36 she was a new mum with a fuller face and huge cleavage from breast milk

@@emyf9197 because she can't let go. Being famous and desirable and on top of the world is so deeply intertwined with her sense of self, that her ego won't let her accept that that phase of her life is over. She could retreat or age gracefully or any number of things, but she doesn't want to.

People will also criticise her, regardless of what she does. We criticise women for wanting to be young, but we also criticise women for aging, full stop.

She continues to create music and continues to have super successful tours and projects all while enjoying herself in the process. Should people just wither away because they're no longer considered "young". Just a general comment, not necessarily to you but just because a particular celebrity isn't important in your world doesn't mean that they're not important in other people's. It's OK to not be a fan of a particular celebrity and still let them do what they enjoy doing. I personally find it fantastic to see this woman still breaking boundaries, making her own rules and not allowing her age and critics stop her from what she's passionate most about simply because society expects you to live out the remainder of your life somewhere in a farm quietly feeding chickens when you pass a certain age. I say live out loud and never stop what you love to do. Passions fuels the spirit. Ultimately, It won't be until she's long gone that folks will finally start to really respect and appreciate what she is doing. She's single handily giving all these younger POP Artists a far longer shelve life than what was given to her all this while being a FEMALE POP Artist on top of it all. Good for her.

@@oliviaalves3559 I tried to have an extensive convo with her about it but we just kept going around in circles - she claims any non-photoshopped images are posted to poke fun and laugh at them as opposed to showing us that they are human, just like us. I tried to point out to her those images make people feel better about themselves but I think she’s so deeply set in her own perception of “flaws” and how they are “bad”, she just kept rejecting my points. it is sad, she is a beautiful human inside and out but spends a lot of time tearing herself down and comparing her body to celebs’.

My mom has the same issue. She asked me about the photos of someone she works with and said “I don’t understand, she doesn’t look like that in real life?” And to me the filters were so ridiculously obvious but to her they looked natural.

I had seen some pictures of a woman before I met her and thought "wow she's gorgeous" and I was a little intimated to meet her. But all of the pictures had major filters - nothing like the reality. It's sad really. I am no beauty queen and aging is really rearing its ugly head, but I don't want anyone feeling that way when they meet me.

I'm 43 and can't really tell either. My friend sent me a pic with no caption n I just noticed the girls cute make up so I replied "cute makeup" n she was like "you don't see all the obvious filters, she looks scary" and I didn't really see it 🙈

This is so true, I don’t eat much normally and when trying to lose my extra weight, a personal trainer was shocked at how little I ate and said I needed to eat more in order to lose weight - I found it so strange but all you do when you starve your body is it will hang onto the fat to feed itself. The body is a strange and wonderful thing

Drastic weight loss is never a good answer and never long lasting results. It can be so so dangerous

I used to have an eating disorder and I truly destroyed my gut/intestines with that, and I still have issues years later. Using laxitives to control your weight/body shape is a sign of bulimia and its a form of purging. To sell these teas as a way to be healthy and control your weight (just water weight anyway) is just wrong on so many levels.

Yeah, I agree and not just the teas, but the "natural," vitamins and pills that claim to help you loose X amount of fat in 2 weeks, etc. My grandma once fell for this, because she watches shows like Dr. Oz and saw posts on Facebook. She ordered a "natural," pill that was made from some exotic plant, I can't remember what it's called, but it was super popular a few years back in the weight loss community. I live with her, so I saw it in the cupboard and asked what it was and she told me, which I was skeptical about it and looked it up and it turned out that it can cause Kidney failure and Kidney disease runs in our family (I have it). I immediately told her to toss it out, as the website she got it from did not do refunds/returns (another sketchy thing) and I also warned her about the teas as well, because I knew that those teas were being advertised a lot on Facebook. I was and still am getting those adds all the time and even had FB friends trying to get me to try them and I'm Diabetic and have Kidney disease, so obviously I'm very cautious about what I put in my body, especially when it comes to that kind of stuff. It's dangerous because even my friend, who weighed about 110 at the time, was falling for the adds, saying that if you have any fat that won't go away, it meant your body had bad toxins or something like that. She had said she was fine with how her body looked, but was concerned when she read that, because she had a bit of remaining weight on her lower belly (which is natural) and thought it meant she was unhealthy. I'm medically considered overweight (190lbs, 4'5") and even I'm not falling for this stuff, but there were times when I had the temptation to look into it to see if it worked, which thank goodness I looked it up first at least. Anyway, sorry for the rant, but it really bothers me as well, it's such a pet peeve that even after the craze should have died down, I still see that kind of stuff on FB, which is the only social media I have because I don't like social media and only use it to keep in touch with family and friends. I stay away from instagram, snapchat and TikTok for that very reason as I know that those platforms are big on selling weight loss "hacks."

I know why you did it and I get it, but your kids are going to remember the memories not if mom maybe had a wrinkle or slightly uneven skin tone at Christmas. They will be so happy to have the unedited photo memories to lol back on one day

@Elizabeth Rasmussen to be fair though towards Instagram - it really depends on you what you see and want to see on your feed. I'm an artist and I follow mainly other artists and I'm never harassed with beauty influencers by the algorithm.

Yeah it's insane, sure there were probably people who took it to the extreme, as is the case now, but it definitely never made sense that it was that crazy of an issue. Although history is insane when it comes to that kind of stuff, so I'm not too surprised people just take it as fact, given what other things people did to obtain perfection (men included). Another thing I never realized until I actually wore a corset for myself, was that, like you said, it creates an illusion, not just in photos, but in real life, without even needing to be laced up tightly at all. I got one for a Halloween costume and I got a real one, not a costume one, (I take Halloween very seriously, lol), intending to not lace it up too much, as I have some stomach issues and was concerned about not being able to sit down, lol. Turns out that wasn't an issue at all, not only was I able to tighten it the tightest it could go and still breath, but I could also sit down easily and it still made me look way thinner than I actually am and I had room in it, meaning it was not pressed tightly against my skin. In the pictures I took that night, I looked completely different, body wise and even my own grandma, who I live with and who had seen me that night, asked if I lost weight 😂 Of course, it was a modern corset, so probably not like the ones back then, but my nanna was a model and she said that corsets didn't bother her and she lived during World War 2. Doing research about history the last few years for a book series I'm writing, I've discovered some absolutely insane things that were either never mentioned at all in any history sources or that were complete misconceptions.

Interestingly enough a lot of candid vintage photos from the inter-war/WW2 onwards are pictures of unknown actresses, models and pin-up girls doing publicity shoots. Those black and white pictures of like size 00 women in bikinis with perfectly nipped waists who have five men gawking at them? Completely staged. Essentially the equivalent of a TikTok influencer with 18K followers posting an overacted video. But you still see them floating around facebook with captions like "See this is what the world looked like before McDonalds. When people CARED about their appearance." Like of course she's tiny and cared about her appearance, Linda. That's a photo of play-boy model and b-list movie actress Vikki 'The Back' Dougan.
