The Springfield Echelon was all the rage when it came out a few months ago. We've all been littered with videos of popular people telling us it's great. Which, of course, can lead to a healthy skepticism. With that said, we bought this Springfield Echelon and will say whatever we want about it. Enjoy.

One thing to note guys, this pistol is not from springfield they did not make this they just imported this, and the manufacutre that made this pistol is HS produckt they are a military and LEO firearms manufacutre and have been supplying firearms for decades all over the world they are based and all of thier products are made in Croatia. The Croatian military uses a bullpub rifle known as the the VHS 2 and the VHS-D2

This is a good point and 100% true! But, and I'm not hating at all, but what does it matter? The gun wouldn't be on the market for the price if they didn't import it... it doesn't hurt the function or reliability of the gun 😂
@driftitlikeyouownit

The second thing to note is that dosen't matter as we have people buying cheap turkey pistols and they function fine. Springfield is doing great standing by thier products especially the prodigy and echelon. They will grow and the echelon works amazing for what it is.

@@cliffordbosworth5378 springfield is known for making 1911s and ars especially the M1A. However when it came to polymer pistols many people thought that it was unreliable or a piece of shit cause it was out of springfields territory in that sense. My only problem is the current iteration of Springfield markets under the guise of being the same legendary company that won wars . It’s deceptive, that being said I own a hellcat pro and it’s a great firearm . In my opinion Springfield should be more transparent on what they are

iirc HS Produkt also makes everything for their guns in house. They don't import a part from a different country or anything like that. It lets them iterate very quickly on their designs and not be beholden to someone else.

The Echelon is a great pistol. Borrowed one from TGC and put around 1500 rounds thru it with zero issues. After sending it back ( I begged Jon to let me keep it) I had to buy one. At this point is really is my favorite striker fired pistol. Dare I say it, I like it more than my H&K VP9. Anyone that "needs" a striker fired pistol should take a look and consider it. You can't find a more feature loaded "service" pistol on the market that really requires no modding. Also I didn't really expect to like it, let alone fall in love with it.

Now, I've owned many, many handguns over the years and I can honestly say that the Echelon is one of, if not the best polymer, striker fired pistols I've owned. I have a few thousand rounds thru mine and it has not disappointed me yet. As a matter of fact, I liked it so much, I bought another one for my nightstand gun! Once again gents, great review. The birthday bump that you refer to is a feature that was built into the Pro Series CORE (Combat Optics Ready Equipment) pistols from Smith & Wesson. This was when the red dot on pistol craze was just taking off. I like it because it takes one movement out of the battery of arms and reloads are fast af. S&W removed that feature in the proceeding models and I haven’t seen it in any other until the Echelon.

They sent me one in the first wave for reviews. Deep down I didn't like it at first and thought the slide was "over done". That was the out-of-the-box first feelings when I received it weeks before the public saw it. Then I shot it, then I really started to understand it. The more I shot it and longer I looked at it, the more I understood it and really came to appreciate it. It runs and sounds great suppressed too. I now have my own FFL/SOT and recommend it all the time to my customers. For the money it's a damn good gun. I threw the small frame housing on it and got even better control and grip purchase. Just an all around great gun!

FLUX DEFENSE - If you see this, please make a Raider for this. Seriously, I’ll buy 2 of them yesterday. As far as the Echelon on its own, I got one a bit after its release and I would do it again. I have 1200rds through it with zero issues. No regrets. If you’re someone on the fence, at it’s price, it’s a solid polymer handgun.

Amen. I second that on both comments. I have the P320 flux but would ditch it for an Echelon flux (plus buy two more echelons - 1 with the threaded barrel). It is an awesome gun.

I’ve put exactly 400 rounds through mine (all white box Winchester) and have had zero malfunctions. I really like this firearm. It feels like a custom Glock 17…but better. I have a TLR-1 HL and a Holosun 407C and am really considering making it my nightstand gun over my G19 MOS with the same outfit.

i got the Echelon, but i got it mid Dec. n it was sold out everywhere near me so i had to order it online, so in my state there are extra fees for EVERYTHING. so it ended up being like 700 bc i had taxes, shipping, paperwork fee (to process), fee for the papers (for the actual papers), the receiving fee, n a fee for using my check card... i just moved here so i didnt know they did all that but i got it super quick, it came in the next day. anyway i have put 750 rounds of monarch 115 grain fmj (the Academy special lol) n about 300 rounds of various defensive rounds, n i has run smooth. other ppl have fired it at the range they liked it. it's a firearm made to be easy to use. it's good beginners n for ppl who are not ready to dump 2500+ on a 2011... CZp10c is like 375-450. So enough left over for optic work if needed and potentially enough for a holster or magazine. Just an option for those looking! Admittedly though really like the echelon especially the slide cuts and everything ready out of the box.

Glock innovates a lot! They took a 17 and shortened the slide and dust cover! Then they took the 45 and lengthed the slide to match the 17 again! Look, so much innovation!😂
@ALovelyBunchOfDragonballz
@ALovelyBunchOfDragonballz 5 ай бұрын
@Kosem72 "no need to innovate" isnt even a defence, its just a false statement. Firearms didn't peak in the 1910s, they didn't peak in the 1930s, and they didnt peak in the 1980s either. _But more importantly than that_ we aren't MARSOC. Its not viable for a civilian to carry an M4 with them everywhere, so the handgun is almost always _OUR_ primary weapon. You might be able to carry a rifle in your truck or car, but carrying one into Wal-Mart costs you a lot of time and possibly getting shot by some of your county's "finest".
@ALovelyBunchOfDragonballz
@ALovelyBunchOfDragonballz 5 ай бұрын
@Kosem72 modular chassis, suppressor ready models, a proper magazine. These are all things glock could do but they don't. They retexture the same gun and change the length. Back when glock was the only game in town that was fine, but they're not, and I should have to spend hundreds of dollars making my overpriced pistol competitive with other offerings.

5000 rounds through my Echelon with a 509T optic and a modlite for the flashlight. Replaced the 17 round base with a +3 from Taran Tactical. ZERO MALFUNCTIONS. This gun is my go to and I would recommend it to anyone that wants something in the polymer/striker fired realm.

An Echelon variant with the Pro SD treatment would be cool. Give it a factory upgraded trigger, 5" threaded barrel (in both 1/2x28 with the Hellcat dimple for the RDP compensator system and the objectively superior M13.5x1LH for suppressor connaisseurs. And not 5.1" or 5.2" as it should stay legal with most competitive rulebooks that ask for 5" flat) and maybe a factory magwell. And ship it with 4 large magazines that have bombproof floorplates. Plus an enlarged slide stop lever, but just on the left side where most right handed people want. Red dot cowitnessing height irons (so lower than full suppressor height) with a fiber optic front, a tungsten guide rod and steel chassis would also be cool, at least as upgrade parts.

I have been interested in a duty pistol and was hung up on walther pdp but didn’t care for the beefy slide cuts. Also price point was an issue. The Glock 19 was my next choice but only for my ability to shoot it very well, but hate the look of glock. I shot an Echelon last year at a local range competition where we had to shoot one round with our own pistol, one with a Glock 19 and the third with an Echelon. My first impression picking it up was that it felt plasticky, but I shot that damn thing better than I shot my own VP9. I might have to consider one at some point. Hands down it was a better pistol for me than the Glock.

It's nothing like Taurus toro. Taurus is just cut for a single footprint like all other companies that have optic ready guns. What the Echelon has is a system that you can mount multiple different footprints on without using a plate. Your comparing apples to oranges.

I have a well dressed up hellcat pro and I've been in love with it since the first mod then the echelon was released two different guns but out the box I've almost forgot I have a hellcat pro also my only complaint is that the magazine well has a little wiggle with the mag in it now I don't know if that's because I have the large frame but I would really like to know if I'm the only person who notices the magazine wiggles when you shake the gun I was going to buy the med frame and see if it's the same with the wiggle but other then that this gun is awesome and up until watching this video didn't know this gun could do a birthday bump so thank you

It is not as reliable as a Glock. I had the same issue with it that I have with the 320. When I got to 1400 rounds, the FCU got gunky and I began to have malfuntions. I had to pull the FCU and drown it in CLP and then was good for another 600 rounds before I experienced the same problem. I then cleaned it and sold it on Gunbroker. For me, reliablity is king so Glock, S&W, HK and Walther are in the circle of trust. The Echelon is probably fine for people that shoot a couple of time of year. It did not hold up to higher round counts just like the SIg.

Man you need to learn how to clean your firearms if your fcu is “gunky” and malfunctioning at 1400 rnds. My echelon has been cleaned 2 times in a little over 5k rounds and I have zero malfunctions. This also feels like a comment from someone who doesnt own an echelon and wants to hate. The fcu doesnt gunk up at all due to the placement and mechanics of the firearm. Small layer of carbon after 1000 rnds?sure. I love my glocks but you could baby wipe this thing in 2 seconds after every 1k rnds and youd never see a malfunction
