Union Minister Nitin Gadkari ahead of the inauguration of Dwarka Expressway in Gurugram on March 11, said that twenty per cent has been saved in this project. He also mentioned a conversation with American officials where they said Indian infrastructure is better than US.
Nitin Gadkari said, “Today is an important day for India. The Prime Minister has set an objective before all of us in the form of a mission to make India's economy a five trillion dollar economy, to make a self-reliant India, and especially the dream of becoming a super economic power. The infrastructure that is going to be built is worthy of that, the example of that infrastructure is today's Dwarka Express Highway. This is a state of art project and I am happy to say that about 20% has been saved in this project from the estimated cost. I want to thank the Prime Minister as I requested him that after seeing this project, he should inaugurate it, he gave time and looked at each and every detail with great interest, I thank him for this.”

I can vouch for what Nitin Gadkari is saying. The quality of infrastructure built in India is superior to that in the US, especially when roads are newly built. The problems start when the infrastructure is not maintained properly on a regular basis. US highways are in a poor state because of inferior ongoing maintenance. I have lived in the US for the past 43 years and have seen a steady deterioration of the infrastructure because of poor maintenance. Whenever roads are resurfaced in the US, the thickness of asphalt added to the roads is so thin that it wears off very quickly. India should avoid the mistakes that the USA has made. Please ensure that the toll collected is used for regular highway maintenance. Even though the roads may be superior, driving on Indian expressways is a problem because of the way people drive. They commonly use the shoulder lane to overtake, and they do not follow lane markings either. Giving turn signals when changing lanes is unknown in India. Enforcement is key to changing people's bad driving habits.

The work of road infrastructure in india under nda government is highly appreciable.I live in jamshedpur and i can tell that before it takes 5 hours to reach ranchi but after tata ranchi expressway it takes hardly 2 hours ❤❤And the quality of road is very good .Not a single pothole 🥳🥳

Bruhh in Karnataka the place where I live got road works started when BJP was in govt, the widening of road was expected to be helpful for large vehicles which came from Mangalore.. but now it not only is stopped but many other works like Waste disposal place which were completed are also stopped operating after congress MLA came to power.. 😢

@@Normie404 Dear, instead of comparing that aspect, he should compare expressway length in which China is at 177000 km and usa is over one lakh and we are less than 10 k… And whole logistics depends upon speed and speed comes from expressway in which we are far behind . India is targeting 50k expressway by 2047 which is far less than what we sd have targeted so you can compare rate of growth by target itself which is too less than present expressway length in usa ..

We highly appreciate the efforts of NDA government and Modi Ji for the Infra project. However, still there is scope of improvement by the Contractor, as the way they are building the Road infra is accident prone due to no proper driving signs/signals, pothole on Highways with the speed limit of 100 Km is highly dangerous, Curb on every joint of road and on bridge , bearing on the bridge is not properly installed so vehicle at specified limit of highways become unsafe.
