The squeegee technique is a painting technique in abstract acrylic painting and is one of my favourite painting techniques. This video shows that rust and patina effects are also possible with the abstract squeegee technique. For a "used look" I use, among other things, a notched trowel and also a small squeegee to make marks and scratches in the layers of paint. For a metallic colour I apply a little copper. I paint in my own style using the squeegee technique made popular by Gerhard Richter. He is one of the greatest German artists for me. In contrast to his large paintings and large squeegee tools, my canvas is naturally small. I hope you enjoy discovering the squeegee technique! Maybe you want to try this wonderful technique too?
