Ingleton Pottery Making a clay pottery ceramic piggy bank / Money box on the wheel.
Finaly got my mum & dad to take part and make a piggy bank.
So basically this has none of my input.
Before anyone asks you do cut a round hole in the back to remove the money.

Brilliant (sickeningly good!) throwing; a bud vase thrown and trimmed in a minute and a half! Thanks for sharing Dan. I shall now go and practise...for thirty years! Mark.

So cool to watch how quick your Dad is in making the basic shape. Beautiful to watch. I did jump though when she threw the clay down for the first ear. LOL. Great way to make the ears.

I just love these! Many thanks for sharing them with all of us. I adapted it a bit with just a small piece of coiled clay that divides the nose hole vertically making two nostril holes. But overall, they are really yours!

They're so so so cute your piggy banks. With your permission, I'm going to copy them. I used to make a closed form (like when you make a clay egg) and stick a round button of clay to the front for the muzzle, but this idea is just great. :)

I guess, your clay is a special mixture, because it´s seems to be so smooth and special to handle... At least thats the impression you get, when watching your videos!

Excited at the prospect of producing a piggy bank, with my two hands I tried to throw the bud vase.......what a disaster. Will keep trying, tho. Can you tell me the weight of clay used?

What, no legs and feet? I suppose that does add complexity, and it is a family business, or so it appears. Nice banks, I hope you sell a bunch.

By the hole in the back of the piggy bank, the description tells you to make! :-P
@Neldidellavittoria
@Neldidellavittoria 9 жыл бұрын
Nominem Nominandum There is no hole in the back. You've got to cut a hole once it's full. In this way you avoid crushing the cute piggy to pieces with a hammer, which was the traditional way to open them.

If it’s hollow don’t you just dump the money out through the nose if you want to get it out? Why is everyone asking how you get it out?
