I was just getting to know you When I turned my back Did I miss my chance? You almost slipped through my hands We could go 'round to a friend's house and get stoned We could talk about things we never say when we're alone Who's your money on? Who you gonna put your money on? Who's gonna keep you alive? I'll put myself on the line I know that you can feel this I built my walls too high Now I'm tryna scare you off I've just been hiding in my head for so long We could go 'round to a friend's house and get stoned I want to tell you some things I could never really tell you before Who's your money on? Who you gonna put your money on? Who's gonna keep you alive? I'll put myself on the line I owe you more than I have You can tell me the cost I should have taken your hand Somewhere I got lost Without you, the odds are not in my favour We've got everything to lose And everything to play for You know how it goes This plastic house ain't built to last Things are just like they always are [ ] lies in your hands It won't last [Indistinguishable] Who's your money on? This plastic house is built on sand

Artificial Pleasure, HMLTD, Emma Ruth Rundle, Julia Jacklin and more are also out there making great music. It sucks that the industry brings gutter trash to the top and leaves the real music behind.
@einexile3 жыл бұрын
@@mercurialpierrot7073 It seems to be a coordinated campaign. Witness the endless parade of "rock music may have run its course" concern trolling in various publications over the past few years. Some will argue that it has to do with R&B and pop simply being less expensive to churn out, but I have my doubts the motivation is anything as benevolent as good old fashioned greed. +1 to Emma Ruth Rundle and thank you for the other three.

I love the album as a whole, but this is the one that I keep coming back to. The production is particularly excellent on this track. It's very intricate, oscillating between being really dense and really sparse, without ever sounding overproduced. I especially love that little drop at the 0:42 mark that creates all that space, the bass tone, the little synth stabs... and of course, that spaced out outro coupled with Elijah's beautiful vocal delivery. Great work.
