I’ve moved on from Mobility Mastery (self fascia release) in order to focus on teaching Kinetix, my method of root cause discovery for pain and dis-ease that involves partner fascia release as a “diagnostics” (and regeneration) tool. Kinetix is a complete scientific methodology that I teach to friends, partners and professionals alike inside The Kinetix Academy.
My other primary focus will be the launch and growth of a new podcast and Substack community called The Human Freedom Project.
// NEW CONTENT ON KZfaq //
Sometime in 2023 I will return to KZfaq with HFP podcast episodes and content created to help you know and understand yourself as a whole organism made of body, soul and spirit. This content will feature the Kinetix methodology, pain science, fascia secrets I’ve learned from 15+ years in private practice, neuroscience and evolving beyond the brain, trauma and the body, and more! I’m excited to go on this new adventure with you.

Did you know that glute inhibition can cause head to toe pain? Everything from plantar fasciitis to knee pain, hip pain, low back and mid back pain, shoulder pain and even things like tension headaches, digestive issues and incontinence. The glutes work WITH the other deep core muscles, like the lower abdominals, to stabilize the pelvis. In a lot of people, the glutes AND the lower abdominals can become inhibited, leading to chronic pain that's challenging to solve for good until you get to these root issues. Do you think you have glutes not firing? If so - for which of the 3 reasons?

Both of these symptoms went away through his work (im not for sure if that is still the case), but worse symptoms started happening afterwards. During that time though my wife left me, I fasted from everything except for water for 40 days and nights, and was very sedatary.

I walk the way you described but I also stand on the sides of my feet when standing still. It just feels more comfortable...
@ElishaCeleste
@ElishaCeleste 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Marie - standing like that probably feels more comfortable because you're able to rely on your outer hips for stability, rather than your inner core. Unfortunately, it also can make the inhibitions worse (to stand like that). AND - all of this is solvable. You can retrain your body to walk and stand optimally again 😊

#1. Flat butt definitely not my issue, tho not nearly as toned as JLo’s, lol. Fell on my tailbone, probably like a lot of people. So I’ll continue using a tennis ball to release the scar tissue. Good reminder. Seeing an xray at a chiro office was the real eye-opener. The coccyx looked abnormally pushed forward. As long as I regularly release my adductors I can stay pretty balanced and keep strengthening the glutes.

I just can’t express how grateful I am for finding you and the journey you’ve been on for solving your own pain and teaching us! I think I’ve finally figure out my pelvis is tilted up and and back on the left side. I’ve had so many injuries to that area since I was little and growing up so it’s just all tight in there. I’m relatively flexible in the legs still somehow. What areas do you suggest for releasing my pelvis? I want to take your class but will have to wait until next time bc we can’t afford to rn. I look forward to it though! And I’m going to keep exploring on my own bc I’m determined to figure this out! Thanks again elisha!!
@ElishaCeleste
@ElishaCeleste 2 жыл бұрын
Aww, yay, I'm so glad you're figuring yourself out and find my videos helpful. Unfortunately I can't tell you what areas to release, because it's so individual. That's what the course teaches in depth. The best I can do here is suggest that you explore your lower body fascia (legs) to find the densest areas of fascia, and release those more. The goal is to find the imbalances and then restore balance to the pelvis. I'm rooting for you! Your determination will see you through to freedom! 💛

My glutes are not firing. I have arthritis in my left big toe, very painful to roll off of it. I also ruptured the Achilles tendon in the same leg and spent 8 months in a wheelchair with multiple operations due to infection. That was 10 years ago but I am having hip problems now. I have been told by a PT that my glutes are not engaging and that I should walk more. I have walked a lot and ended up with hip problems. Now I feel unsteady and weak.

Hi with your experience of working with fascia how often can fascia be worked on? After working with the fascia is there some time that is necessary to rest the fascia like it's good to rest certain muscles after training to allow the healing process too occur? Or due to the soft tissue like the abdominal muscles can it be worked every day?

When I do clamshells my right hip/groin starts to hurt about 3-4 hours? I want to push through and keep doing clamshells but I’m always worried it will make it worse. Any thoughts?
@ElishaCeleste
@ElishaCeleste 2 жыл бұрын
If you're trying to activate your gluteus medius when it's inhibited, other muscles will take over - like your quad hip flexors and high adductors (groin area). This is just a best guess based on what you shared. If you do have glutes that are inhibited, the LAST thing you want to do is try to strengthen them. Inhibited means unable to contract. You want uninhibited muscles, which means finding the reason they've become inhibited and taking care of it. The video breaks down the different reasons glutes stop firing 😊

I have a very tight pelvic floor, specifically the muscle that wraps around the sphincters, I get urethral burning all the time. I have trained in the past, quite intensely never being able to develop glutes (pancake). My pelvic floor muscles take over. I have seen a Pelvic floor therapist for quite some while, all the things we do are not very lasting, only a couple of hours, including self care at home. I do think my flat glutes are the source of the dysfunction. How do I go about building those and relaxing the pelvic floor? Have been in pain for many years, so frustrated. Thanks
@ElishaCeleste
@ElishaCeleste 2 жыл бұрын
Did you watch the video? It definitely sounds like you're dealing with glutes that won't fire. In order to reverse this, you have to figure out WHY the glutes stopped firing. This points to a root cause, or several root causes, that can be addressed. It's definitely possible that extremely tight/dense pelvic floor and lower abdominal tissue can inhibit the glutes - this falls into category #2, where the antagonist muscles won't allow the glutes to fire. This can happen due to things like abdominal surgeries, giving birth, sexual trauma, childhood trauma that impacts the vagus nerve and gut brain axis, causing density/adhesions in the lower abdomen.
@akolley1
@akolley1 2 жыл бұрын
@@ElishaCeleste Yes I did watch, thank-you. I have had massage therapists check to see if they are firing, they say yes, but I completely disagree. I have fallen, had 2 c-sections, hysterectomy.... I have been doing scar tissue/fascia work with a grastin instrument. It did def help, then it stopped. I do ball/foam rolling. When I sit for a while, I try to sit on a physio ball. All these things feel like bandaids. My TRL and adducters(the ones that pull the legs together) are always super tight and hurt badly.Would your course address this? I need practical tools, so tired of spending money on seeing people all the time. Do you do one on one virtual?
@ElishaCeleste
@ElishaCeleste 2 жыл бұрын
@@akolley1 Yes, the course addresses all of this really holistically. Whether you join SPI or not, just know this is a 100% solvable issue. I truly believe that. And, it can be complex because it involves interconnected systems of the body that ALL have to be addressed together. Above all, I recommend trusting your gut above what anyone else tells you (myself included). I wouldn't use a grastin tool for my abdomen, mostly because they don't get deep enough and only address the superficial fascia. The dense knots in the abdomen tend to be pretty deep, so it's better to use something like a softball or your own hands. And yes - I do offer one on one virtual consultations. For details about that, please email info@elishaceleste.com
