Solo by Alko is not Solo made in Germany. The good old Solos are gone like the Dolmars. I still keep some 644 and 651 Saws alive here in Germany and the are absolutely reliable Saws . Thanks for sharing the China Alko Solo and i hope you show us the inside soon and beast it up!

Just a little note what you said at the end about Solo selling a dolmar built saw that is not true the 681/7910 series saw was a cooperation between dolmar and Solo and both companys essentialy built the same saw with a few minor differences (the solo had a catalysator and the dolmar a SLR system) The saws Solo made before selling their garden line to Alko were completely made by them in sindelfingen Stuttgart germany, those really were professional saws the old 656 had 4.4 hp and was a beast this new one can't compare. I have a hedgecutter by Solo/AlKo its pretty good i already have it the 3rd year works great but is made in china by Topsun , the old Solo is gone😢. They were the first company to make a chainsaw with a diaphram carb in europe in 1957/58 (Solo Rex). But like Dolmar the old Solo is gone. But it still seems like a nice homeowner saw.

Pretty sure the Portland at Harbor Freight is the "42cc" version clone of it. Doesn't seem too bad, curious to see what you do with it👍🏻

😂 You can buy pro grade saws from 50cc to 120cc. 67cc IS a small saw, nothing wrong with that

If they aren't really sold here, I didn't see anything that would warrant searching hard for one. I'm not saying it's a bad saw. My money would go elsewhere.
