Setup krny k liye ap k pas ek "Dial guage with magnetic base stand" hona chahye. Is stand ki help se ap dial guage ko tie bar k kareeb machine ki body pr magnetic base ki madad se rakh den. Phir dial guage ap ko sahi reading show kry ga.

The method is similar with a little change because the machine structure is different in ram type. You can figure it out if you closely focus on the core principles of balancing shared in this video.

Length of tie bar should be equal of all the 4 tie bars on operator side and clamp side.

This is a lengthy process , for this you have to be able to open the checknuts of the tie bars on operator side and clamp side, then push all the tir bars from operator side towards clamp side.

In the absence of strain Guage equipment, this is an effective way to balance the tie rods on a machine. The purpose is served😊

@@Bybigbrooh using a dial indicator is fine, but you dont measure the elongation of the tiebars like this because there is no load on the back side of the threads. If you place the indicator on the tiebars between the fixed and height adjustment nuts you get a more accurate reading.

@@Bybigbro We always set a good mold in the machine, and fully clamped the mole (this is for a toggle clamp machine). Then took an indicator mounted to a custom extension. Took readings in each corner of the mold. Tedious, however got each corner to within .001. Then assembled the back end and rechecked. On toggle machines max clamp pressure is established by tie bar stretch. If you flash the mold it puts undue stress on the tie bar, as well as sinking the flashed area of the mold. On hydraulic clamp machines you can still sink the mold, however you push the clamp cylinder back, which does not over stress the tie bars. Certainly not a good practice, however better than a mechanical clamp machine. Always start first shots with a short shot, and slowly increase your feed.

@inquisitive980 let me clear your doubts first as i have balanced more than 200 Toggle type injection molding machines using this technique. On the HMI of the machine you can see the clamp force in 0- 140 numerals. Now if the machine is 128 ton , when you put of value of 70 on the clamp force on the HMI, it means you are exerting a force of 64 ton on the mold to keep it closed. When performing the tie bar balancing through the method shown in the video, we stay on the safe side and just clamp the mold on 30-40% of the clamp force. we get the reading of the stretch on each tie bar and then balance it by the technique shown in the video. However if a person have no knowledge of the complete working of injection molding machines, he would never be able to balance the machine. We always try to put a good mold in the machine , but if our mold somehow loose parallelism, we can adjust the machine tie bars according to this, but if we change molds on a single machine and we donot balance the machine for each mold then it will cause a problem. So this practice of machine balancing is preferred for a machine which runs a single mold or if the platens of machine have lost thier parallelism. PS. I have balanced about 200 machines using this way to an accuracy of 0.05mm. There are too many other factors also involved during balancing of the machines which differs from machine to machine type.

@@Bybigbro Hey bro, First I was taught this method back in the ‘70’s by a service man from Fellows. Fellows goes back a long time in IM history. They were forced out of production by the FTC as they were acquired by Lombard (another oldie). We sent many machines to a company that fully rebuilt them, including modifying plunger machines to screw machines. This company reinforced the methods we used. I totally respect your experience doing over 200 toggle machines! I am certain that technology improvements took place over the years, and we also transitioned from toggle to hydraulic clamp. You are right bro , i also learned this technique from one of my senior colleague who told me that they used this practice back in 70's in japan.
